V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2023 CT5 V Blackwing 6M, 2012 CTS-V 6M (sold 2017).
This is a question to people on the form who may have more knowledge about the CT five black wing than I do. I traded in the manual six speed 2023 for a 2025 and as I’m exploring the car I found out that the manuals in 2025 do not have Blindspot monitoring. I would like to know if other manual owners have the same problem that there’s no blind spot monitoring and if they have the problem, I wonder if anybody knows why GM would delete that safety feature from our cars.

You don’t have the light on the side mirrors telling you there is a car there???

Same with my car. It was warm enough to start playing with the settings finally and I was very surprised to find out the same thing.

Finally figured out how to get my tire pressures with the sport mode screen. I like the new gauges for the most part, but I miss how I could configure my 4 tiles on my 4V BW.

Do the auto trans models come with it? Does GM assume manual trans drivers turn their head to check blind spot and use arm outside window to signal turns? That’s very odd.

No I checked (after I bought it). Not a deal killer, just weird and not something I thought I’d have to research, like the deleted volume knob on manuals. Really odd decisions by GM/Cadillac.
What’s the deleted volume knob reference? Curious to get more info on the manual transmission blind spot omission and volume knob deletion 2025+.. I’d like to see why/how just manuals.

The only way to adjust volume for a 6MT 25 5V BWs is on the steering wheel. There is no volume knob like the 25 5V BW A10s have.

Is that bc the knob’s where the shifter is I assume? Interesting. I use knob vs. steering wheel controls 50/50 w/ kids. Knob to go up/down rapidly and steering wheel controls for small vol changes. I hadn’t thought about this much until now..

Dunno why, but agreed, that’s how I used to do it to. The good news is that the steering wheel controls are very responsive and easy to use for both. Hard to get used to though, I find myself reaching/looking for the non existent volume knob at least once a day. Add it to the list of many dumb decisions by an auto maker.

Wild theory on why blind spot monitoring is nla on the manual. Based on the website there is a new “blind zone steering assist” feature that’s standard on the A10 but n/a on the manual. Perhaps the basic monitoring is tied into the new feature and since M6 doesn’t get it, it loses the basic function as well…

i know i shouldnt i kind of live by those little side view mirror lights when changing lanes lol
I do as well. My Mercedes had a much more visible red indicator on the mirror. I find the 5BW with the dim yellow is hard to catch with a quick glance. It’s also in a non-optimal location on the mirror. Should be closer inboard.

Always figured blindspot is now a NHTSA/DOT requirement for new cars. Weird theyd take something thats been common place and standard on most cars the last decade out.

Is it possible that its something you gotta turn on in the settings? Is the outline for the car still in the mirror?

Think this is the reason I added a sticky wide mirror on mine. For me, I just hate the idea of getting used to it, then it doesnt work one time and i clip a car.

While I dont depend on it, it is very nice to have. It’s about the only active safety system I like. It’s weird they kept lane keeping, but delete that. My forward collision is way too sensitive, but they don’t give you the option of reducing the sensitivity like I thought I had on my 4V BWs. It goes off when I’m going by people that are either turning left or right. No brake intervention at least, but the Star Trek red alert popping up and beep is very annoying.

I looked everywhere and it isn’t in settings. The outline isn't there either.

I thought so to, apparently not.

Yeah my wife's mercedes has the flashing yellow/red triangles on the mirrors, and a beep. I really wish my BW had at least the beep. But I cannot believe cadillac removed all of it for 2025. That's crazy to me
