Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

What's the"lame" remark about? Don
"lame" you got a flat tire? Opps..I see how that can be misinterpreted, Lol. Anyway, I am the king of "Lame" flat tires and windshields if you knew how many I have had in last 10yrs you wouldn't believe me.

So, off to Discount Tire comorrow. Drove it a couple miles and at least for that distance, it held pressure. Can take a can of sealant with me if the leak gets worse. Don
Tire sealant should be a last resort, too many bad consequences (likely trash the TPMS). Some shops won’t work on tires with sealant. Better to over pressure the tire and/or take a portable tire inflator along.

Yep, I agree, forgot about that complication. Thanks, Don

Be careful with Discount Tire. If they can plug it without taking it off the rim, then it should be fine. They tend to tear up rims with lower profile tires when they mount tires.

Should be OK, small diameter nail appearing to be straight into the tread. Don

DonD - if you are in San Antonio area, take it over to Blackjack on Huebner. Those guys know how to deal with low profile tires better than anyone else in the area. I would want a plug/patch combo if I were you.

Installed ZL1 Lift Pads on my 5BW. Used a new blade in my utility knife to cut the black plastic. Took longer to jack the car up than it did to install them. Now I can safely lift from all four corners if needed be.

I take pictures of my wheels when I drop off. It’s saved me twice.

Who makes those stands? Are they adjustable to different heights, one height only?

I installed those lift pads awhile back, they saved the pinch welds on more than one occasion.

I do recommend since they are new install, come back in a few days after driving and recheck the set screws to make sure one didn't loosen up.

I had one, that did or I just didn't get enough on it the first time. Retorque them all, no issues since. Nice clean install.(y)

My buddy got some scratches on his black Evora wheels, Tire rack mobile service caused them. Cut him a check for $7,400 the next day! He couldn't believe it.

ETA Manufacturing.

They are adjustable in two increments (8" or 14").

I installed the same ZL1 lift pads on my 5BW, nice product.

Suggestion- I cleaned the set screws and thread holes on the pad with alcohol to remove any possible remaining mfg residues, then added some blue Loctite thread locker and tighten. Last check, they are still tight.

I recently bought the 14” two piece wheel cribs from Race Ramps. They split into four 7” wheel cribs. They’re light weight and complement my RR 67” ramps and can stack them easily on my upper shelf in the garage.

Those metal ones are interesting.

Holy shit they must have done some serious damage. Discount Tire scratched mine, but they were very surface level and they had a mobile service come out to my house and fix them, and re-ceramic coat them. This wouldn't have happened without the pictures. I showed the manager the before photo and he just said 'ah shit.' lol

FYI: Just got an email from ZL1 Addons. Lift pads are on sale!

Are the CT5 lift pads compatible with CT4?
Can't answer that with certainty, but I believe there's a thread here somewhere where someone put them on a 4BW.

Was just a bunch of small scratches, we were both blown away. Seemed a bit crazy.

I looked at my window sticker today. I don't own the car anymore but at least I have that.

That counts as doing something Blackwing related right?
