Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

BLUF - Good news is that I got my 5BW (YEAH!!)...But not without one last show at the rodeo!

After two weeks, the status on Cadillac inventory website never changed from 'In Transit'. I happened to show up yesterday (Monday) and saw my car sitting out front. I immediately recognized my option combination. But why was it sitting running out front?? --- because someone else was test driving it! I almost lost my SH$T thinking they were trying to sell it out from under me... Turns out someone was interested in ordering a manual... But still -- WTH are they letting someone drive a customer ordered vehicle?!

Of course, all of this just in time for snow/sleet in Dallas this week!

The car was dirty from almost four months sitting in Michigan... They committed to storing it indoors and I will pick it up after the snow clears this weekend. I look forward to posting pictures once it is cleaned up.

Good luck to those of you still waiting!!
I would lose my mind, nobody should ever touch your custom ordered vehicle, especially some random person who's going to come beat on it. That's just insane the dealership would be that stupid.

How many miles are deliveries arriving with? More than 1-2?

Someone else test driving my custom order would be a deal breaker. Give me a new allocation or knock some dollars off.

Wow - what was the dealer's explanation for having someone else test drive it? Legally, the car is not yours until you take delivery and submit payment but if you ordered the car, it should have been done under the "RETAIL SOLD" coding which means the car was ordered for you specifically and you get the first pass at purchasing it.

I think it's wrong to take a sold unit, especially an ordered car, on a test drive (other than the buyer of said unit). What if they were to have an accident? I've had dealers tell me no test drive on sold units.

Mine had 9 miles after some random person test drove it...

Looks like you may be in the Dallas area. Please tell me it wasn't ******** Cadillac. (Edit: By your latest post, it is not this dealer). In my mind it is hard to believe they would do this, but maybe I am naive. I would be furious for sure, but on the other hand I suppose there might not be much you can do about it. I guess it comes down to: do you want the car or not? Such a shame to go to the back of the goat rodeo line over this. I don't know. I just hope it doesn't happen to mine.

I'm trying to put myself in shoes of someone driving my car...I'd be turned off, but not losing my mind over it. Someone drove mine to put gas in it and while I asked for it to be "dirty off the truck" it was washed and gassed when I got there. No harm done in the end.

To the person that test drove @OwensTX 5BW, pfff...if you're on the fence about M6 and need to "test drive" one to decide, its not for you dude. I never even saw one in person, let alone drove one and I couldn't write the check fast enough.

I get that. My bw was the most expensive car purchase I'd ever made by over 2x. I knew it was what I wanted but pulling that trigger was tough without even seeing one in person. I couldn't be happier with mine but the chance to see one and maybe take it for a drive would have been extremely helpful.

I disagree. There’s no way in hell I’m buying any vehicle without test driving one of the same model / trim first.

The dealership I have my order at wouldn’t let me drive a car that had been sitting on their lot for 2 months that had some repaired hail damage.
They said absolutely no test drives on any new Blackwing.

Agree with this sentiment. I don't mind losing my deposit if necessary, but why be another 100K+ down on something you don't even like?

FWIW, my dealer allowed me to test drive MY ordered car before finalizing purchase. Definitely, they would NOT allow someone else to test drive it since the deposit was placed by me ($1k to hold).

I guess we all have a different fragility but there was never any question that this car was for me. Also, I'm coming from a long line of V's and similar GM/Holden product, so call me a super fan. I still stand on my comment which was specifically about needing to drive an M6 to decide if its for you.

Oh I definitely agree, you should not be able to drive someone’s ordered / desposited / reserved car. It’s just the other part of the comment I disagree with. I would want to drive an auto and manual to decide if I was on the fence. Hell, I was 99% sure I wanted an m6 for my Camaro but still drove an auto. Same would go for a BW. Especially with how good the a10 is.

I cannot get over how good the M6 is on the Blackwing. I don’t know where it is on the spectrum of great manuals, but it’s up there. I was able to find a used manual 5BW sitting at a dealership an hour away bc I needed to confirm for myself how amazing it was. I hated the manual on the newest gen M3.

Guess I got lucky (or chose the right dealer)! I was able to just show up and test drive an unsold 2024 5BW 6MT with 20 miles on it back in October when I placed my order, without anything more than a picture of my driver's license. That unit is actually still for sale lol

@GoldfishTX I checked the online order status a couple hours ago and my car has been built.
