So why not "ramp up" production/supply when they KNOW they have the demand? I come from a 38 year in product management/global importing and if I couldn't find a supplier to meet my needs I'd find one who could. Carbon fiber production (to the best of my knowledge) is rocket science or as we used to say like making tiles for the space shuttle. I'll have to order the CF Pkgs from the dealer (pay slightly more my dealer told me) and have them put them on.
Someone who is connected inside GM shared with me recently that Cadillac has gone through like 5-6 different suppliers for the carbon fiber pieces in/outside the car since the BW was introduced. Most of them have gone bankrupt and new suppliers found - that is the reason for inconsistent supply.
The original story was they had a main supplier that made 70-80% of the parts, then a couple smaller companies made smaller batches. The main large one went bankrupt due to not being able to get supplies back in late 2021. Company went under and the smaller companies could never keep up with demand. So why not "ramp up" production/supply when they KNOW they have the demand? just get a piece of black vinyl sheet, lay it over the light and cut it. It’s a cheap, easy solution until new lights comes out.Hi all, I picked up my 2025 CT5 BW a couple weeks back from Casa de Cadillac in LA and am loving it so far (this is my 4th BW). I was looking to smoke the side markers and ended up going with a vinyl overlay kit that I used on my previous 2022 only to find out that the side markers are smaller now. Does anyone know if anyone has a solution for the 2025 model yet? Also, I wasn’t able to get CF packages due to constraints and was curious if the 2025 part numbers for the CF front splitter and rear spoiler were the same as the previous model. Does anyone happen to know?
Thanks in advance!
Let's see more pics of that beautiful car. I took ordered the Radiant Red Tintcoat. What interior did you go with?just get a piece of black vinyl sheet, lay it over the light and cut it. It’s a cheap, easy solution until new lights comes out. View attachment 28917
All of this is correct. The demand pull from Corvette's took priority because as everybody knows...money!The original story was they had a main supplier that made 70-80% of the parts, then a couple smaller companies made smaller batches. Makes no sense that they havent found other suppliers. The Corvettes doesnt seem to have issue with productions. But then again, thats probably why we have no CF parts since they're prioritizing corvettes. That and cost of the CF weave has gone up drastically since even before covid due to aerospace demand for it.
