Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

There are unresolved issues with the 6.2l. Most have shown up on GM trucks/SUVs. They could be holding until they resolve the issues.
Exactly what I said a few pages back 🤷🏻 Fine by me, get them perfect/bulletproof, like they did with the GT3 991.1 to 991.2 engine transition.

I don't think GM cares, just like Ford. If they cared, something would have been done years ago. Easier, cheaper to ignore it and fix/replace a few engines, at least in the trucks. Maybe not $25K BW engines. Just like the 8 speed tranny in the CTS'. If you read the recall on the trucks, you only have until next year(?) to file a claim or it's on you. Yup, that's caring.

Interesting that you say that the 6.2l has issues. I had (3) up to hard 100k in 3 years and they have been better than all my German v8’s. Better gas mileage too
Also, why would they suddenly be holding up 25s to deal with "issues" after shipping 3 model years of cars with the same engines without any pause or recall regarding any such issues, even after Car + Driver famously blew up the engine in their own long-term Blackwing?
I'm on my second CT5 V BW and have experienced no issues.
I also don't believe that there is an inherent problem with the engine as it looks like 95% or more of them are fine.
Maybe a little less reliable than most cars but we're not in Chevy Vega territory, to cite a perhaps too-extreme example.
My guess is, and this is just a guess, that there is some reoccurring problem or two with some part or two that is not being consistently manufactured or screwed into place correctly.
"Ah! It's this widget!" or "Looks like we're sometimes putting this widget in the wrong way," someone at GM might say if they figured it out.
If it is something like that, I think it could be fixed without holding back production, let alone cars already produced or in progress.

It's a fact that the 6.2l in the truck/SUVs has issues. That doesn't necessarily mean it's in all 6.2l.

I would add to the BW engine discussion by adding that they are not shipping the 2025 CT5-V cars either. All the CT-5 Vs are being held back.
Our dealer was just notified that 2 more of their orders (non-BW) have been built, but not to expect shipping until December.

If past performance is an indicator, it's most likely a supply chain issue (yes, we still have those all over our economy). Probably something to do with the new components in the 2025s. Then the cars get blocked in at Ice Mountain and who knows when a given car with ship. The Rodeo is real!

I have found no broad mention of LT4 reliability issues that would cause a stop sale.

We all have our opinion so I'll throw mine in here... I think this all about the broader market for vehicle sales which were down 12% in the US for September.

Cadillac was slated to begin '25 CT5 V/BW production back in the June/July timeframe and, as the market slowed, they pushed production to September. Many of us saw our cars built early last month. Now, they have realized there are too many 24's in inventory and want to sell those units before fully releasing the 25 V's. It seems silly to sit on millions of $$ in inventory that could be damaged while stored in a lot. But my guess is that Cadillac looks at those customer ordered vehicles as sure bets to sell so they will defer those deliveries to December where they can still count the earnings in the current fiscal year.

My dealer doesn't even want to talk about a '25 Blackwing v5 order until December.

He has an auto '24 sitting on the lot for the past few months that they refuse to discount.

I guess will just enjoy the rodeo from the fenceline until spring. =/

So what’s normal lead time from placing an order via an allocation and GM actually accepting the order?

Completely depends on who you order from and the moon phase, and a few other factors. There's nothing normal about the goat rodeo.

Like a week in that situation. If not, perhaps there was no allocation. 1100 for ever with no allocation.

So how can you tell if there was or was not an allocation? Dealer claims the order is attached to an allocation, despite still not being picked up by GM.

He's straight up lying to you. If they had an allocation and they used it for your build, it would show as having been accepted by GM within a week. If the dealer has an allocation and doesn't use it, they loose it. Not going to happen.

So that’s my only option here to confirm if there was an allocation or not attached to this order: assume I am being lied to if it’s been more than a week?

I have the build sheet from the order. Is there anything on there to determine if it’s attached to an allocation?

Yes sir!

No sir!

The build sheet and a nickel...

If you have the 6 character order then you can go to the website and ask the chat bot for a build status update. It will say if it has been accepted by GM or not. Mine didn’t get accepted the first week but was accepted the second week. Only happens on Thursday fyi.

I have my 6 digit order and the bot has consistently said that my order has been entered by my dealer but not accepted by GM yet, been 2 weeks. Dealer claims to be baffled on why and has run it up the ladder to their rep.

So my only choices here are to wait or cut bait? Nothing on the build sheet can confirm an allocation match? Last status update on the build sheet is 1035 Re-edited; Failed on 10/2, not sure what that means.
