CT5-V Manual 25 Blackwing no blindspot monitoring. Why

CT5-V Model
"Blind Zone Steering Assist" is included as standard and no longer excluded from the 6MT for the 2026MY according to the ordering guide.

Vehicle Order Guide
So that means I will have to buy 2026 model just to get that feature? :hb

I’m think you can buy a ‘25 with the parking package. I’m pretty sure mine has it, I’ll have to check when I pick the car up again on Monday. I only drove it for like 40 minutes between the dealership and the PPF place.

I mean, waiting for the ‘26 to come out just to not have to look over my shoulder (which hopefully people with lane/blind spot assist are doing anyway), would be more patience than I can muster… and I like to think that I am a very patient person!

Then again, I’ve never owned a car with blind spot/lane assist before so it isn’t an important feature to me.

Parking package doesn't include blind zone assist on 25, the auto transmission does for some reason.

So it doesn’t show anything on the D.I.C. or vibrate the seat if you turn the blinker on and there’s a car next to you? I could’ve sworn it did in mine, but like I said it’s hard to recall from 40 miles driving eight days ago.

There was a tiny pang in my heart when I saw that they were including the PDR and Parking Package standard in the ‘26. Though I’m sure they’ll just bump up the MSRP, to reflect that.

The one I bought had PDR and parking package but I do not see anything for blind spot monitoring.

Did you go into your vehicle settings and check if it has to be turned on? The manual says it can be turned on/off:

When the vehicle is started, both outside mirror LCA displays will briefly come on to indicate the system is operating. When the vehicle is in a forward gear, the left or right side mirror display will light up if a moving vehicle is detected in the next lane over in that blind zone or rapidly approaching that zone. If the turn signal is activated in the same direction as a detected vehicle, this display will flash as an extra warning not to change lanes.

LCA can be disabled through vehicle personalization. To view available settings from the infotainment screen, touch Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection Systems. If LCA is disabled by the driver, the LCA mirror displays will not light up.

I find it very surprising that there is no notification of any sort in the ‘25. I won’t be cut up about it if it doesn’t have it being so used to driving without one, but it is surprising.

For 2025 it's standard on the auto and unavailable on the manual. Pretty straight forward.

I am actually pretty pissed that they removed it for 2025 but are bringing it back for 2026. That's verging on lawsuit territory when an OE randomly decontents a model year, which could lead to devaluation.

I'm hoping the base integration hardware is there, and this may just be a mirror guts swap and recode when the 2026 MY comes out and people dig into them.

PSA: side view mirrors are there to provide just that, a side view. After years of being a driving instructor, I've found the far majority of drivers adjust their side view mirrors towards the rear of the vehicle (that's what your internal rear view mirror is for).

With the side view mirrors fully adjusted outwards on my 5BW, there is a tiny remaining blind spot on the driver side, but none on the passenger side.

Here is the rub.... my loaner which costs exactly half of my BW, has blind side monitoring and heated mirrors :hb

I'm guessing when they made supercruise standard the blind zone assist was lumped in with that and since the manual doesn't get supercruise it also didn't get that. Someone realized it's lame to leave it out so they added it back separately for 26.

But the manual is missing several features it could have if GM really wanted to. Other manuals on the market offer adaptive cruise. No reason it can't have remote start either. They have sensors to detect if the car is in gear... Just don't remote start if it is and if the parking break isn't on. Not that hard.

Looks like I've been saved the aggravation and being pissed off for not having blindside monitoring.......

Twist in the story....... I'm sitting at the dealerhip (who I will never do business with again) and they have given me the deposit back and returning the car...... all because they don't want to refund the ETCH charges of $299 (which is not even done yet) as it was agreed upon before the purchase.

I will be ordering MY26 as soon as orders open..most likely with Sewell Cadillac, as they don't play these bullshit games

I thought that the lack of remote start on manual cars is due to a federal regulation that was most likely written before cars became more advanced in their ability to monitor.

They sold you a car and now they’re unselling it to you because they want to charge you $300?

Yes, and most likely because they will charge the next guy ADM. Sales manager told me that they are not supposed to sell BW without "protection package" and "market adjustment" but someone did, so they are not going to do anything about the ETCH charges.

Talk to Dustin at Sewell. I got mine from him and he’s the hardest working guy at their dealership - maybe at ANY dealership. Paging @1StunnaV

This is unreal.

Nobody has come closer to owning a CT5-V Blackwing than you, and you have done so twice now!! (you should have taken the electric blue one you ordered!).

This is were I am at. I am on the verge of getting out of the Goat Rodeo and.......

I would think this is almost certainly true. The lack of will probably be long forgotten by the time this is figured out. If not, then I'll bet it could be remedied.

Total frustration with GM though. Why!? Just stupid!

Lawsuit territory? So you would sue GM for not including a feature you wanted on your car, that they included the year after, which somehow de-values your car? WOW. I am not a legal / lawsuit guy and clearly don't get it. I believe GM should be able to equip cars however they please, and people have the choice to buy them or not buy them. Feature sets can change at any time. Lately, it seems prices go up and included features go down every year. Maybe MSRP will also increase next year with the inclusion of the volume knob, and then I would think your devaluation case is harder to prove? I really am asking out of curiosity. I have never heard of anything like this before.
