Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Apologies but I already parked the cars for the night when I saw this thread. Bad angles but I think they look good. On the advice of another thread, I used 6mm spacers to keep them (rears) from rubbing.
Holy shit I didn't think a 325 would fit back there. What spacers did you use? I've never run them so I'm interested in brands. Looks like when I need new tires I might just do 325 PS5s in the rear!

Keep in mind that claimed tire sizes by different tire manufacturers and sometimes same manufacturer, will vary from “actual” claimed size. A claimed 325 may be larger or smaller from past research, so strongly suggest you consider the overall tire specifications as part of the overall comparison.

This thread has all the information about the 325 size & spacer.

Swapped the factory mirror puddle lights with the ones from Savage Cadillac. Very happy with the result.

I’ve had my ‘24 4BW for a few months now. I told myself I wasnt going to do anything to it… that didn’t last long. I currently run the blue belt package from Tapout, lowering springs, spacers, intake, and straight pipe. I definitely need some better tires. Has anyone possibly ran the Nitto NT555RII on the 4BW yet? The standard spec for the car is 275/35/18 but the Nittos are 275/40/18. Yall think that’s going to be okay on the lowering springs?

Had to get the car jumped today after only sitting for 2 weeks while away on vacation. :(
I understand your not supposed to leave these new fangled cars sitting for long without driving them. But 2 weeks? Really now...a bit disappointed.

Also my experience on the phone with On Star was less than easy or pleasant....to the point I will likely cancel it soon. I would guess that the person on the line was from another country and regardless the noise on the connection was bad, they were slow and just not so good IMO....broke connection twice....and I blew up when she said I would have to pay for the service (the jump....new battery - who knows WTF) out of pocket. Obviously that didn't happen. At one point she said they would have to tow my car to a dealership! For a jump????

On the plus side the contract tow guy who came out was great....first thing he said was to greatly complement the car and the color. He knew exactly what it was. In fact he claims to have once owned the only surviving (of 4 so he said) MT CTS-Vs in North America. Said he'd modded it up to something like 1300HP and near that in torque. Showed me a pic as well as pics a a bunch of wild project cars and trucks he'd done up over the years - all with very serious (crazy) mods and he did all the work himself. We probably talked for more than an hour after the jump (my Caddy turned itself off a few times....some kind of idle timer...but did start back up....then I drove it hard for an hour...dusting a Tesla Model Y good at one point....after all the talk of fast cars and fast driving...)

He also offered to buy my GTI on the spot (after looking it over a bit)....no sale just yet...

Vampire electronics will suck the battery dry. Where was your car , at the airport ?
Just in my driveway. I suggested to my eldest son who was staying at our house that he might want to take it out and drive it....but not out of concern for the battery...just to enjoy it (he's driving a Honda Fit now)...but he never did...(drank my beer pretty good though)

Interesting, sorry you had to go through all that. Recently, I left my 22’ 5BW just past 5 weeks without charging and it fired right up. My wife & I were impressed.
I keep a jump box for those “just in case” moments in all 6 cars I have and have a reminder every 6 months to recharge them. I thought I read somewhere of sleep mode, but that could be a different one I own.

I got a decent jumpstart Li-ion box for both cars and have used them both at least twice just in the first year. They aren't as good as the one your tow truck driver used, but It'll get the job done and save you the frustration of having to deal with roadside assistance operators.

Yeah I actually have one (that I've never used...but probably should). I can leave my old Mustang in the garage for months through the winter,,,,and while it will complain and be difficult it always starts up. I bought the charge box for it but haven't ever had to use it. Its for the Caddy now I guess....

While I could have jumped the car myself - after figuring out how to get in the car without power/working key FOB - which the tow guy and I managed to do - I specifically wanted to test out this On Star thing to see how it worked and how well it worked....yeah....

Went ahead and tried my hand at painting my own emblems… surprisingly it didn’t go to bad. (the gloss black has a weird effect on the pictures..)

What are folks thoughts on the V emblem, paint all the chevron cutouts electric blue or stay with the 3 I have now? I was thinking about even doing the other 3 in Iridescent Pearl, I have some extra touch up paint from my Suburban.

This past weekend the Blackwing served as the take home vehicle for my newborn son, second child.

Maybe in 30 years he will take his own son to a classic Cars and Coffee event and point to Tall Steve's Blackwing sitting there with 2000 miles on the clock and say to him, "believe it or not, your Grandpa took me home in one of those!"

Nicely done getting the car seat, the onesie, and the child's gender all coordinated with the color of your car!

I scuffed my CF splitter SLIPLO for the first time since installing it. I never like to hear that sound, but it sure felt better knowing it was the easily replaced plastic stick-on thingie instead of the multi-thousand dollar, always-on-backorder, CF splitter.
