Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Installed the EOS spoiler. Great quality.

went to get some coffee pods from storage this AM, found the Blackwing somewhat leaning to one side in the garage

there was a large screw in the outer shoulder on the driver rear tire. Not repairable for sure based on location, totally flat

easy solution was to throw the winter shoes on (PS4 A/S) -- I also deep cleaned each corner while I had each wheel off & car in air & reapplied ceramic coating to the calipers.

Last thing to do later today is tighten down a V band on the exhaust system to resolve a small leak. Could not reach it this morning and ran out of time

Bought/had installed the Savage Spec3 splitter in carbon and wrapped in matte clear. Also had some carbon vinyl installed on the trim piece below the screen.

How did you get the piece wrapped under the screen? I was thinking of doing that because nobody makes a real one that I could find.

There was a member here that made one out of real fiber. Can't recall who as it was a couple years ago now. If anyone wants to take on that same challenge, I'd be interested in buying one.

yes i was monitoring that but don't think it ever happened. this is a cheap solution and really hard to tell the difference.

I looked it up last night actually, I was the last person to post on his thread about them and it never received a response.

Do you have a bunch extra that you want to get rid of or is it pretty reasonable to purchase? I don't know that I would grab anything out except that one piece with it because I don't like the sparkly black thing

Sweet, just ordered some. $10 shipped, amazing 😀

I brought home the kitchen sink.

In the literal sense. Staging for a kitchen remodel. And to get that mofo in the trunk, I had to fold down the rear seats. What a pleasant difference that makes in how it sounds! Those seats ain't going back up until two people need a ride ...

Stopped by the dealer and had them remove the shipping spacer blocks from the front suspension. When I bought it Tuesday I should have checked it before I drove off with it. I’ve been doing the break in procedure and was hearing some squeaks from the front, stopped for lunch and took a peek….sure enough the spacers were still in there. As I was already In Annapolis I called and they told me to come over and they’d remove them.

Ahem... one of the rare benefits of owning BDT... that unique piece of black sparkly plastic looks like... Black Diamond Tricoat!!

Any idea how they pulled the panel below the screen?

7 days at the magic shop. DAMN. First time I have opted for correction, full PPF, ceramic, tint. Had to go all in on this amazing color. Front markers will be blackened and monochrome emblems next. Definitely leaving the car de-badged aside from the front and back monos. I have the black wheel locks, so probably will snag black wheel nuts when the BF deals come along.

And my stablemate for the week was a fellow LT4.

Home sweet home. And not going anywhere.

Pictures are useless for BDT, I can now attest to it. Was worried I wouldn't like it, but it's way better in person.

Congratulations! Dropping mine off tomorrow for "magic" and getting rid of the dealer's "detailer" scratches 🤦🏻

Huge congrats, Nick! Glad you plunged on this available unit. You made out waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better than getting a 25. Everyone who has seen mine has asked about the color. It is really catchy in a non-flashy way, and adds this subtle, unique splash to our "old man car". Those detailer scratches will come right out. My shop was very impressed with the paint quality, "especially for a GM" as my tech stated. We also got lucky in that our cars were produced in February and delivered to the dealer in less than 30 days. Then, they were under cover the entire time (mine at the climate controlled warehouse, yours at the showroom). Contrast that with other cars sitting outside for months before shipping.... Cadillac handled these Black Diamond Tricoats the right way.

Finally got my car out to Sonoma Raceway. I'd previously had it at Laguna, which is more of a power track. Sonoma is much more of a handling track and the 5BW did amazing. I did have to manhandle the car to get around quickly and the tires were screaming the whole time but it was a hoot. Took a passenger out and she said it was so much fun sliding around.

I ended up trying something late in the day that proved the amazing-ness of this car. I normally exit T11 (last corner) in 2nd gear and upshift to 4th by the end of the front straight. I exited in 4th one time (being lazy) and figured the car would lose ~10+mph at the end of the straight. It was only 3 mph less! It might actually be faster to exit in 3rd or 4th and skip the time loss during upshifts. Something to try next time. And it made me love the supercharged pushrods even more.
