My son and I went to SM together and had a blast!

Just got back from spring mountain. Holy shit. What a blast. Any questions feel free to ask them! Got 4 seconds away from the instructor's hot lap time, which I count as a win. Learned so much, had a blast, and then went to vegas and had that experience for a couple days. Shot some full auto machine guns, saw cirque de solei, maroon 5, gambled a bit, had such a great time.

These cars are so capable. The 4 around turns was way way more capable than I was expecting.

There is a place in Vegas that you can ride in a helicopter and shoot full auto machine guns at derelict vehicles in the desert. My next trip to LV I will be doing that. I was always doing the piloting and never the actual shooting. It must be a blast !
You can also drive tanks and run stuff over, too !

Same place I went! I just didn't want to fork over the several thousand dollars to do the minigun/helicopter experience lol. But great experience shooting full auto, especially the M249 SAW.

Save your cash and do that down in Texas. Take home the bacon after.

I attended the course last week. It really is a blast. I’ve been on a track multiple times in the past but I still learned quite a bit. My lap time improved by seven seconds from day 1 to day 2. The instructors were excellent. Class time was spent on track tips as well as learning the different PTM settings. Also did wet figure of eight drifting, timed autocross, and launch control runs. Housing at the facility was very nice and convenient. Breakfast and especially lunch were solid both days. Also did some outdoor gun shooting in Parhump and then traveled one hour to Las Vegas strip after two day class ended. Finally, the group of guys I met were some of the nicest car enthusiasts to hang out and chat with. Just do it if you bought your blackwing new as it is free.

I am curious from those who have been, is there something for a spouse to do while you are taking part in these track activities? I was thinking of seeing if my wife wanted to go with me and then we could take a day to go to Vegas to see a show. However, she's just going to be sitting around a hot track all day being bored, then she probably wouldn't be interested.

Sign her up! She'll earn respect for the 5BW (over that x3m)! Seriously, she ended up loving the class. Her second place in the autocross solidified "happy wife, happy life".

Otherwise, there were a number of spouses that were there, yet didn't attend. All seemed to have enjoyed themselves. They were in some of the classes, joined hot laps with the instructor each day, and attended breakfast&lunch.

My wife gets car sick and only likes to go fast in straight lines, haha. She definitely would not like being in a fast car on the track.

I had the same concern when I went recently with my wife. She really enjoyed it! We spent a day in Las Vegas before the class and visited death valley afterwards. She actually sat with me in class and was not bored. The in class sessions aren't long. You spend most of the time on the track and doing different driving activities. During my track time she drove to the tower and took pictures. For the other driving activities the instructor drove her and other guests to watch and take pictures of each activity. They have a nice area outside the classroom where guests can sit if they don't want to be in the classroom. Everyone is different but she really enjoyed watching the class and I'm glad she got to experience it with me.

Excellent info, good to know 👍🏼

I'm scheduled for the class next week (November 6-7). Can't wait!

My wife has zero interest in attending, although I always ask, so this will be a solo trip.

I forgot to mention that we stayed at a condo on-site. Some people stay in Pahump. If she had gotten bored on the first day she could have just gone to the condo but that never crossed her mind. They also have a pool and clubhouse that guests can use.

What are the costs of adding your spouse to the trip? It would go along way towards boosting my wifes interest in buying a brand new BW. Though she is already onboard more or less.
