Precision Package Owners - How is it?

The most interesting part about this thread is the "retired at 38" comment. Do share more!
Military can join at 17/18 and be retired by 38. You aren't living on that retirement alone, but it is income from 38 on.

Probably cop or something that requires 20 years.

I doubt that. Here in Ohio, the minimum age to be a police officer is 21 years of age. Not sure what the rest of the country is, but I'd bet it's the same. View attachment 29818

Yeah, I guess that's true. New York State the minimum age is 20. Maybe military then?

Not to derail the thread, but minimum age in both Ohio and New York is 20 years of age at application and 21 years of age at appointment. In other words, you can start the academy at 20, but must turn 21 before graduation and hitting the streets.

Military........could be.

Anyways, I too was saying 38 and retired. Hummm!

I am 42 now. Joined the military (good guesses!) at 18, served all around the world for just over 20 years, and got married two years before retirement. Had a baby one month before retirement, and another just a year ago.

Unfortunately for my health and well-being, I'm a disabled Veteran, so I also have that income monthly.

We live in an extremely low cost of living area, to the point it's actually affecting mental health due to the surrounding available amenities and opportunities. Designated as "underserved", I now realize how when people have shared with me how "middle America is forgotten about", holy shit, they're not kidding.

My wife works still, utilizing her education and skills that brought us to this area (long story) and the closest job I found for me in my extremely niche field, was 96 miles away. That being unsustainable, we decided it's time to take a break and just raise the kids and take care of the house, so I'm a full time stay at home Dad. I play in the market a bit, but nothing crazy. Thankfully I've had a few good moves, plus other investments from way back as a younger Man.

Now that that's too much information about me, here's an update on the Blackwing! It's in the detail shop getting ready for the break in period!

Sorry, hope you didn't feel that you had to explain your life and why you are who you are. Either way, congratulations on making it the full 20 years and thank you for your time in the service 👏🏻

Nope, no sweat! It's a pleasure to talk to others about life experiences - I love to learn. Can't wait to get the Blackwing home!

Oh it’s coming. After tax I’ll net about 16k or so. So I get a bonus to retire. Note this is not the dubious Doge fork in the road offer that it’s questionable that OPM can do. The buyout is a OPM and Congress approved method to trim staff. Won’t be challenged by anyone. Anyhow back to topic, if my NG wells in WV hit and make me some cash I’d consider getting a 5BW with the PP.

I suppose we find out April 2nd.
My dealer, Findlay in Vegas, relayed that my 5VBW (3800 on 3/24/25) would be insulated from any tariff pricing increases. Not sure how many parts come from outside the US, but at least the Tremecs are made in our neighbor to the south.

The last MY25 5VBW window sticker I saw showed:
US/Canadian parts content: 37%
Major sources of foreign parts: Mexico 21% China 15%

It would be interesting to know where the Brembo system components come from. I'd be surprised if they are made in Europe still, given the volume Brembo sells these days in OEM applications.

Current financial news updates pin the beginning of price increases somewhere around mid-April, seemingly tied to when car builds already started are finished.

Looks like I "missed out" on shelling out more dollars by just a few weeks...

The percentages are the somehow the same for manuals and automatics. Which I find interesting given the the manual transmissions are made in mexico, automatics in the US.
