Not sure if this has already been covered. Cadillac is requiring dealers to have customers sign a customer acknowledgement form when they take delivery of the V8V Precision Package and Q2Y 19” Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. It references the need to replace all 4 tires if one needs to be replaced. I figured it was good info for anyone who is placing an order, as it probably won't come up until doing the final paperwork.

This just sounds like they're removing liability from themselves.

The tires have no tread, I think 140 treadware vs the 200 a regular Cup 2 has? Most likely if a tire needs to be replaced due to it being bald as shit (more so then it was when new) its not really worth replacing only one tire. Ideally you would want to just put a regular set of summers on the car and not a fresh Cup 2.

However this acknowledgment won't hold water. You can do whatever you want with your car. If you want to replace only one tire go nuts. GM is just removing liability from themselves so if you don't and you leave your basically bald 3 other tires on and get in an accident you can't blame them.

I would recommend nobody option the Cup 2s. An absolutely useless street tire. This is the first time I've seen GM let you keep the regular summer tires when choosing the performance pack. Corvette and Camaro force you into the Cup tires of you pick them. Cadillac doesn't, don't pick them.

Stick with the 4S.

However, I’ll say it again here: my opinion is that the majority of the handling improvements are due to the Cup 2R tires, and if you’re not going to be using them I’m not sure there is much value to paying the $9k premium on this package (over CCBs)…

I just ran across service bulletin 24-NA-267, which applies to RPO Q2Y (Cup 2 R) tires:

Agreed. The Cup 2 R tires are really made for track use and not regular street use.

Since I will be tracking my BW, I will be happy to buy any PP Cup tires that get taken off for proper street tires. Just message me.
