Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

@1StunnaV had a big write up about the paint and what options you have. Refuse the car is about the only control you have over the situation. If you're lucky the dealer with help, but I think the consensus is if you REALLY want the car, then take delivery and have a professional detailer correct it (at your expense).

I will say that the flaws @Deneed4spd experienced did happen to a few, but aren't the expectation or experience for most. My black raven 5BW sat out at the factory from Oct to Feb and was 99% flawless when delivered. Don't sweat it if yours does the same, it will be fine.
Hoping for the best

My Blackwing had a TPW of 12-9-24 and was built before I made it to the office this morning. WOW!! Hope it is still inside somewhere letting the paint dry and not rushed right out into the cold.

What was your course of action at that point? What could we do? Refuse the car, have them fix it, something else?
I got it from an out of state dealer on Dec 2022. I had it transported covered to my house. At that point, if you could get a BW at msrp, u jumped on it as I did. Well big mistake since it was black and paint was total crap. Panels were misaligned. Trunk had to be slammed shut. Well oddly Feb 2023 came and my local dealer calls me and says couple people dropped in front of you and your up but u have to order today. I told him I got one but I really wanted a blue one. I told him black one only has 8 miles on it since it’s snowing and I can’t drive it. Local dealer said we will order your car and when it comes in June, bring in your car and we will give you what u paid for it. I got my new blue car that was ordered in Feb, made in May and transported soon after. Way better made, no paint scratched. Never got to see the build status of the black car. Wouldn’t surprised me if it sat on lot at factory for a year. Bonus of this drama was, since I owned first one for 6 months, I got to go to driving school for it, and then when blue one came, I got to go again!

There is definitely some luck of the draw involved. My 2022 Rift Metallic sat at GM about 3 months before being shipped to Sewell. The paint was absolutely fine.

My 2024 Black Diamond Tricoat was produced end of February and delivered to the dealer in less than 30 days. Then it was in a climate controlled warehouse until I bought it. My film shop said it is as good of paint as they have seen on a GM.

We all know GM is not known for having the highest quality paint work. And while it is ludicrous to us for them to produce them and just stack them up outside, it is what they do and it is not a secret. But I would guess most still arrive no worse for the wear.

I don't think the delivery issues are related to just the CT5-V. I have a 4BW that was produced in early October. I was told in early November that it would be delivered on November 8 or 9th. Every week the ETA changes to the next week. It's been sitting for 2 months now in the Lansing lot.

I'm not sure if GM is trying to push 2025 models into January or they have a horrible inventory delivery system. I would think they would want to accrue these as sales this month.

🤷 Who knows ...

Anyone surprised that the dealers are as clueless as us? You’d think they’d give the dealers at least a little insight.

Just got the call from my dealer. Reading from the email he received; stated that shipping was starting tomorrow and that “fingers crossed” they make it in before the end of the year. This is my first go around with Cadillac, but have ordered many cars. My dealer has been accurate every step of the way. Cheers to a Christmas gift for all! (CT5V BW)

nice, congratulations!

So according to the bot, my order, without an allocation, just got picked up.

Checking in with my dealer, they say a Jan build date.

Wild ride.
you have a bot to track that stuff? that's pretty wild. great news though!

When you log into the Cadillac.com site, you can connect to the chat bot in the lower right. One of the commands it knows is "Order status for #ABC123" (your order number) It will give you your current order status in the GM system.

If you have a build date, your dealer received an allocation and it was used for your order. Congrats

I dunno.

About 2 months ago, my dealer “thought” they had an allocation. They put in my order, which is how I was able to get an order number, but after a full week it was still not picked up by GM.

Everyone here at that time told me that meant my dealer *didn’t* have an allocation.

The dealer even refunded my deposit, saying it was my color choice that was making it get rejected. Order was never officially canceled, we just let it ride.

Fast forward to yesterday, and GM picked up the order.

Also, Thursdays are allocation days, and yesterday was a Wednesday.

I think GM might have accepted this order without an allocation, which seems extremely rare for a car like this.

Not possible to be accepted without allocation. Thursdays are when allocations are handed out to dealers. After they use the allocation, it is GMs discretion as to when they accept or process it.

So how do you explain the order being accepted by GM on a Wednesday, when it hadn't been accepted for the 2 months prior to that?

I checked over a dozen times over the two months with the bot and it was always: order has not yet been accepted by GM.

Then suddenly yesterday afternoon, a Wednesday, it was accepted.

Dealers must use or lose their allocations, so this one couldn't be sitting unaccepted for two months?

GM factory can accept it any day they want to. As I said, at their discretion.

Man, I don't know what to believe.

When I asked the forum why my order two months ago still hadn't been accepted after a week, the overwhelming response was because my dealer was lying to me and didn't have an allocation.

Now you're saying that a dealer can have an allocation and submit an order that is attached to it, but GM can opt not to accept it for at least two months if not longer.

🤷‍♂️
