Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

Man, I don't know what to believe.

When I asked the forum why my order two months ago still hadn't been accepted after a week, the overwhelming response was because my dealer was lying to me and didn't have an allocation.

Now you're saying that a dealer can have an allocation and submit an order that is attached to it, but GM can opt not to accept it for at least two months if not longer.

🤷‍♂️
The thing is, you don't know when the dealer had the allocation in this case. Normally, GM does not procrastinate acceptance of an allocation they gave out. My recent comments were directed at day of the week acceptance. It is more likely the dealer was not forthcoming about your situation.

Since the order was able to get accepted on a Wednesday, are you suggesting the dealer got an allocation the previous Thursday and somehow waited a day or so before they lost it, attached it to my pre-existing order, and that's when I finally saw it accepted?

They couldn't have gotten an allocation on a Wednesday (yesterday).

This dealer has contacted me several times over the last couple months when allocations came in to them on Thursdays. Each time the options I wanted were constrained and I passed (I even put some people here in touch with them).

Certainly could be different scenarios, but if actual acceptance was on a Wednesday, it had to be an allocation they had at least a week before.

I’m having a real hard time seeing that could be the case. I thought dealers had just a couple days max to use the allocation or lose it.

That means they would have locked in my order almost 5 days before telling me. They didn’t even have my deposit on file anymore, and knew I was working with whatever dealer could get me the car first at MSRP. I could have not wanted the car anymore from them.

I’m thinking that the scenario of high, high demand and highly disrupted supply that was happening during the pandemic, which most of you first gen 5V BW buyers experienced, are long over.

I suspect that there may be a bit of an oversupply vs demand situation right now, where GM may be loosening allocation restrictions, and taking generic orders like they do for their lesser models, to move as much metal as possible, as long as they have matching raw materials.

Just look at how many 2024s were sitting unsold on dealer lots.

I may have missed it but did your dealer confirm your car is under their allocation and at status 2000? Drift will be a cool color…congrats!

From what I can see it is already at status 3400 with a Target Production Week of 1/13/2025.

Drift with full carbon 2, red caliper CCB, some aftermarket bronze-ish wheels, slight lowering, and an exhaust, I think I’ll be happy for a while. Thanks.

IDK what the real story is on your order, but yes, they only have until the end of the weekend to use the allocation. But remember that the factory folks will see that the allocation was filled with an order and then take it through their system for process (however long that takes). Might be immediate, but might not be.

Just got the call from my dealer. Reading from the email he received; stated that shipping was starting tomorrow and that “fingers crossed” they make it in before the end of the year. This is my first go around with Cadillac, but have ordered many cars. My dealer has been accurate every step of the way. Cheers to a Christmas gift for all! (CT5V BW)
My dealer just called. Unfortunately still no movement on my vehicle. Same place it was a month ago.

The last message I got from my dealer a few weeks ago was:

“The allocations are starting to come in. The Carbon Fiber option was on constraint. We get get order in faster with out it. My manager feels it will be available very soon.”

Do the allocations have to be specifically for CF cars? Or can any allocation include that in the build?

Allocations either have no constraints or can come with specific constraints.

In other words, when an allocation is issued by the factory, it can come with options constraints that limit what can be ordered by the dealer.

Or they can be issued with no constraints at all and the car can be optioned as desired.

If there are constraints, the order won’t be accepted at that time if it includes constrained options in the build.

I got a drift allocation the dealer already had in. But they said at the time they couldn’t get the CF packages. Build date is end of January. I may look around but don’t see any 2025s on dealer lots yet.

Thank You GM:
