Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

I'm a liar

Congratulations !!

Astons are very cool. Getting the last one with 3 pedals should be fantastic. I truly hope she's as reliable as advertised.

Now I see why he calls himself division... or should I say divisive?
Happy for you bro!

... that's why it depreciated 100k🎭
Seriously. I don't miss living there. Between the state inspections and front plates...

I swear I am tempted to fly with a screw driver and remove the front plate before I leave the dealership lol.

Aston has some stunning paint colors available - always pains me to see them in boring colors. This one is amazing.

Well bought and congratulations!
One of my only rules was no silver/gray over black. If it was silver over tan though, id at least do a BRG wrap lol.

This one, when I saw it, I couldn't think of any other one. I broke my $50k cap and my timing of doing this in April, well worth it.

I dream of owning a car like that but the maintenance cost potential scares me away every time. Keep us informed on the cost of ownership. I hope your surprised in a good way over time.

I'm trying to keep this out of the dealership service department. Oil changes, plugs, all that stuff is pretty easy on these. Lots of great DIY YouTube vids out there. It's an NA V8, far better to keep this running than other options.

Wow great car - your going to enjoy it. Too bad I missed out on an opportunity to buy that roadster of yours (a dream car for me)....though there is no way my wife would approve...

Thanks!

Roadster is still in the garage lol.

My friend has mostly agreed to buy it. So I've got it until April and he's not confirming 100% until February. He has been so in love with it he bought one to modify last year over and turn it into mine. At the price I gave him it costs $10k to have mine after ditching his, or just the cost of my transmission conversion lol. Needless to say he was like yeah, that's the fast forward/easy button.

Great car - congratulations!
But I want to know more about the '09 Saab 9-5 wagon 5mt: Built Motor, Evo 9 Twin Scroll turbo,6mt swap LSD, e85/Flex tune, ETC dyno coming soon, 400+whp. That sounds seriously bad a**! A manual wagon, too cool.
A buddy of mine had one of the 9000 Turbos new and it was a riot.

My dream car is the big brother to this. A 2017 V12 Vantage S. NA V12 with a stick paired to one of the best looking sports cars.

I wanted to buy the newer Vantage, they came out with a one model year manual transmission and then killed off the stick. I did not want the auto. I wasn't able to secure a car and now any used ones I find are abhorrently expensive.

I'm also of the opinion of no grey or silver cars which is very hard to do when your Aston Martin shopping.

Hopefully it brings you some trouble free ownership.

Funny enough I just got an 9000 Turbo 5spd. My brother passed away in '05 and his Saab 9000 Turbo wasn't sentimental to me at the time. I spent years hunting it.

My wagon is my sleeper. I love it. I just put some rare forged wheels on it..

So, first, congrats. Details on the model year, engine, etc. please as I don't know when they started/ended with the V12 or if it was even available with three pedals.

Second, great color choice.

Third, I almost bought a Vantage. Twice. Actually, three times, but the first time it slipped away, the second two times I couldn't do it for various reasons that are irrelevant to this discussion.

I will agree though that these are special cars, the quality of paint, leather, etc. is way up there, the engine sounds are fabulous and all Internet lore is that they are rather robust and not expensive to run and maintain, if you can stay away from the dealer.

A buddy of mine had one, and he would often wax eloquent and nearly endlessly on the fabulous paint, the fit & finish of the interior bits, the attention to detail. One could nitpick the shortcomings, like the technology that was dated when the car was designed, some shared parts from Volvo and perhaps Ford, although I consider those to be positives, as the savvy shopper can save money when replacing bits. And who cares if the navigation system screen is too tiny to read when you've got that flat plane crank?

Heck, if one tried, one could probably find some shortcomings in a Blackwing. ;)

That's an awesome cool car. Much more interesting than hey ma look I have a Porsche now.

PS- why are some people being <you know what> to you- lol.

Just an aside (that I still think is very cool to this day)....Henry Rollins once sang happy birthday to me....at a concert at a club in the mid-1980s - a show I went to with a friend on my birthday. Turns out my friend (who was a drummer) knew him and put him up to it without my knowledge and he came and sat with us at our table after the show. We had a great conversation (though I can't at all anymore remember what we talked about....other than a love of ginseng....)

He comes off as though he could turn a conversation about nothing into something intense.

He is a really smart and interesting guy.

A good friend of mine who grew up in Germany used to work for some concert promotion company over there and had the responsibility to make sure bands who came into town made it to their hotels and to the show and also to cater to whatever requirements they had for their rooms or what not. He's got some great stories - like how the Ramones were the absolutely stupidest people he ever met in his life (after driving them to their hotel from the airport).

He was very impressed by Henry Rollins who requested that he drive him all over Berlin showing him the sites and explaining what he knew about them and the history etc. He said Rollin's was intensely interested in details and facts and just wanted to learn stuff and that he was very unassuming.

I won't go into detail wrt his Micheal Jackson story except that he had a hell of a time disposing of 2-3K stuffed animals they had to get for his hotel suite. Eventually dumping them in a landfill as they couldn't give them away...
