My car will be 3 years old this June and it has 5800 miles on her. Probably will never do more than 3000 in any given year, at most. Does anyone have an idea what a dealership will charge for an extended warranty , since I will more than likely keep this car for a long time. I saw a chart somewhere but can't find it , showing what different year and mileages are offered.

I paid around 1k to get an extra 5 years and 50,000 more miles of bumper to bumper warranty.

Others have said James Black Cadillac in PA has good prices on the extended warranty. They will give you good advice on when and what to buy for your situation. They have a good following in the Vette and SS communities.

I will take a ride to my purchasing dealer and get a quote from them, then I will go to my local dealer where I service the car and see what they have to say. $1000 bucks for 5 extra years sounds good to me. Nothing is cheap on these cars . My local dealers are over $200 on their labor rates !

I don't think it is going to be that cheap. As the car ages, the price goes up.

On the flip side of the coin, my 3 year old car only has 5700 miles on her. I know the mileage comes into play also. I also still have one more year left on the factory warranty. I will report back after I speak with the dealerships.

Hi Folks! I'm, checking on extending a warranty on a very low mileage 2023 CT5BW and the first Cadillac dealer I talked to about buying/adding the extended warranty (not 3rd party!) quoted me $3800 for a powertrain 8yr/120k mile warranty to a platinum/everything 10yr/120k mile for $6k. This is from date of purchase of warranty (I'm skeptical if that is actually the case on date!). I'm love to hear from those that bought extended warranties, especially from those that added a warranty after initial purchase!).

I'm going to check in with James Black Cadillac in PA as recommended above asap.

Thanks ahead for feedback!

Can you buy a warranty from any GM dealership and it will be honored without any issues ? I guessing everything is a negotiation on price.
Just returned from my local Cadillac , who does my oil changes. He offered 7 years for $3800. I still have one full year left on the factory warranty. He said that if I bought it today, the 7 years starts today. It basically turns it into a 6 year warranty for $3800.
I texted my selling dealership and await to see what he offers.

Yes you can. I've done it with both GM and Ford.

The Finance department of the dealership is a profit center, and markups on the warranties vary by dealership. Some clever dealers in the country offer to sell them nationwide at low markups. Why do they do this? They are getting low effort business that they otherwise would not have.

Just got an email from Knapp offering a 7yr/56,000 mile 100$ deductible for $2157. That's $1643 less than my local guy !
Waiting on my selling dealer to respond with their offer.

So the powertrain warranty is 6yr/70,000 miles. Doesn't seem like much of benefit for the engine.
