I buy and sell. I think of it as renting the watch. It’s a hobby and a watch is the only jewelry I wear everyday.Hmm, $5k. I can take a ski trip to the Rockies for a week with my wife for that much money. Think I'll stick with my Fossil watch![]()

I just made this same choice recently and went with the FOIS. My only complaint is that it's actually a little hard to read vs the white speedy. I'll probably go for that one next. I would have skipped both for an Ed White, but I know that call is never coming.I was torn between the white Speedy and the FOIS. My dealer had one of each and told me to choose. The dial on the FOIS is spectacular, but I have other pieces that are similar. Snow White was a good departure for me, and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. Can't go wrong either way.
Not many things hold their value as much as to the bold. That removes any guilt I might have during a purchase. I wouldn't consider buying either if I had to choose between that and family time/vacation. We'll work our asses off to get both if necessary. Then somewhere down the road the kids will have what was mine and the value might be amazing by then.I rarely will ever buy a watch new, especially a brand like Breitling which will depreciate heavily. Lightly used secondary market is my go-to, exception being brands which are more on the secondary than from the AD.
Guns & watches, I enjoy them now, and when I take my dirt nap, my boys will have some cool things to remember dad by.
Hmmmmmm, never have seen the value in watches...., because then you have to be accountable. : )Unfortunately, I failed to instill my values to the kids. Nobody wants my cars or bikes, and I can't even get them to wear a nice watch. Guns.........perhaps we'll see...........
$$$ value ? Once EVs make gasoline no longer ubiquitously available, I think ICE toys will be relegated to museum exhibits. I'm just glad that won't happen in my lifetime.
16 months it took. I had to wait extra because I had never bought a watch with the AD so took a lot of follow up. Craziness to me but......yeah was worth it![]()
Love it, its on my list... waiting for "the call", you know, forever.
I'm also in the manu world. Besides the machines running here, we are also a CNC shop internally. We build some cool shit, only for us that most would care less to see or know. Growing up my dad always had harley's and was constantly working on them, shocker I know. The chrome, the moving parts, the cleanliness of many show bikes, all lend a hand to my interest I suppose. And to each, their own. Many different hobbies out there with just as many collectors. Whether its matchbox or the real thing, I appreciate it.this took a weird turn, .... mind you, in a forum of what are considered luxury gas guzzling limited edition vehicles.
It's called having multiple hobbies and likes people. I like watches whether it's a $200 dollar Seiko, a Casio, a Bulova, a fossil, or higher end pieces. I am in manufacturing, and I enjoy the craftmanship that goes into the art of watch making. There will never ever be a need to justify my likes to random internet strangers haha. Spend your money and time however you please.
Wearing my Raymond Weil Freelancer today. Tomorrow for valentines' I'm rocking the Bruce Wayne. That's my special occasions watch.
no offence was meant, specifically for your hobby. I was just commenting on " time " as a whole. I put very little time into watching time. I will not let it dictate and command me. I choose to live life on my own lazy terms. : ) I live the life of..., I'll cross that bridge when I get there.this took a weird turn, .... mind you, in a forum of what are considered luxury gas guzzling limited edition vehicles.

As far as watch collecting, I have a FBI friend of mine that loves watches. He has tons of them, and even has carry cases for them.
10 types of the same watch (to me) in different face colors and set up.
I personally collect matchbox size cars and diecast cars.
So again, no offence was intended.
Looks like a ressence, but I don’t know which model
