Blackwings and Watches

I knew fake watches must exist, but this is the first time I've seen carbon copy fakes being openly sold as fakes. They even claim to be based in the USA.

Other than pure trust, how do you detect these ?

Anyone ever compared them side by side ?

Are the aftermarket dealers up front about their methods to determine authenticity ?
I went down this rabbit hole for a bit, and the short answer is that there are always some tells that a watch is fake. Shape, weight, finishing, printing, function, etc. Some clones have a ton of market interest and they are pretty close (Daytona for example). Some factories even have cloned movements. Others are really far off if you have a genuine watch to compare to. They're all made in China.

I've found a few of those made in china sites. Face place is flooded with them. I'm still learning a lot but would assume someone that's knows would easily be able to pick a fake. I have considered buying one of the Richard Mille's. God knows I've spent $600 on dumber things in life.

Wow that looks like trademark infringement at the least and some type of fraud even if they call them 'replicas.' LOL they're made in the USA because if they ever had to pass through customs they'd be seized.

There are another class of more expensive fakes that take a real case and bracelet and put a china movement in them. These may pass an authenticity screening such as employed by eBay.

This style of watch, especially the skeleton styles, are far more obvious fakes. There is a sub reddit called reptime where you can drown in this rabbit hole if you want.

Total SCAM. Not made in the USA and not made in Switzerland as they claim.

Most that I have found are directly from Chyeeeena. Online they look nice which reminds me of this:

a buddy has several fake Rolexs (off a street cart in NYC). They look legit from a normal conversational distance. Then he takes it off and hands it to me.... we both started laughing as he knew I knew instantly it's a fake... weighed nothing.

Another fake I've seen appropriately named, Relax. Model names are pretty good too, yuckmaster and exploder.

Skeletons are very cool. There are budget, real automatic skeleton's out there as well.

This even claims to be a tourbillon !! Obviously Chinese........but the only way to see one without spending nice house money for it.
