Ressence Type 3 is one of the few watches that could conceivably require an oil change... it even has an oil temp gauge. Mega watch.I think you’re correct, a Ressence Type 3, possibly. They had that cool orbital time display. Very cool.
I’ve watched tons of Mosso’s videos.As a new owner of a 5BW, I love this thread.

If y'all could see our vault... It's truly insane
Tim is awesome. Truly a marvel. He genuinely loves it tooI’ve watched tons of Mosso’s videos.
Wait... Do we now have a Blackwing owners' Rolex AD? Because if so, I have some requests...As a new owner of a 5BW, I love this thread.

Yes. Several actually because we also own Radcliffe, Govberg, and Hyde ParkWait... Do we now have a Blackwing owners' Rolex AD? Because if so, I have some requests...![]()
Great. Sign me up for a no date submariner. Getting one here without buying a bunch of stuff you don't want is impossible.Yes. Several actually because we also own Radcliffe, Govberg, and Hyde Park![]()
Send me a DM I'll see what I can do. No promises thoughGreat. Sign me up for a no date submariner. Getting one here without buying a bunch of stuff you don't want is impossible.
Cheers to a fellow engineering director.![]()
Those are very easy to get with hardly any mark-up. I sold my Sub no date on eBay last year, easily 9.5 condition as I hardly wore it. They are very Plain Jane IMO. If you insist on getting one I would get the date, breaks up the monotony of the watch. I also have an Explorer 2 white dial that I think I will be selling soon. Condition is also 9.5 and bracelet is unworn.Great. Sign me up for a no date submariner. Getting one here without buying a bunch of stuff you don't want is impossible.![]()
I want to buy one new. Just like the blackwing, I want to be the first one to put a scratch on it.Those are very easy to get with hardly any mark-up. BTW, the method I use to purchase watches there is no sales tax and that lessens the pain some on aftermarket mark-ups.
I haven’t found many watches I wanted to keep after a couple years. Watches look great in photos and videos but the reality is until a person wears it for a while they won’t know if they like it. The one I’ve had the longest and have no plans to sell is a Glashütte SeaQ. That is my everyday beater watch.I want to buy one new. I work in a super casual industry (t-shirts and jeans every day) , so I can't really get away with anything flashy. Otherwise I'd probably chase a GMT. Date is fine, but ever since getting a speedy without a date, I have really enjoyed not setting that over and over again when I travel.
I don't have one, and never will. I guess I am not a serious collector. That is A-OK with me.Probably the most written about, photographed, and copied iconic watch. I’m not a Rolex fanboy, but think every serious collector has one. So another photo to add to the millions already on the interwebs.

Any reason why? Being new to this sport I also would have assumed that most collections would include one similar to a 10/22 being necessary for any start of a collection.I don't have one, and never will. I guess I am not a serious collector. That is A-OK with me.
I'll be honest with you, I know many high end collectors that do not own a Rolex. And the ones that do have much older models, not the newer ones.Any reason why? I guess I flip watches like a lot of people flip cars around here. Why not, in many ways much less trouble than cars and much less depreciation. Rolex makes good watches, the movements aren’t pretty hence why no glass case back. They do perform well, are tough, and good resell money. The ones I’ve owned are extremely accurate, around 1 to 2 sec a day. While COSC is -4 to +6. They are not my favorite watch for a simple reason, I prefer some numbers on the watch. If I had to sell all my watches except one I’d keep the SeaQ.I'll be honest with you, I know many high end collectors that do not own a Rolex. They make a decent watch, especially considering they pump out around 1 million pieces per year. So many people want them just because the name is incredibly well known, and they like that feeling of being recognized. As I have posted before, I'm an under the radar guy. Like de-badging my car, I don't need to show anyone around me it is a "Blackwing" (besides, the gas peddle does that in a much better way!). I would say if you love the look of a certain model, buy it and enjoy. But for what they cost, and what they are, I much rather spend with other brands.
