Glad you got it hooked up, but sorry to hear that. I had to use the 2nd from smallest tap (they give you 4) and had to fiddle to see easiest corner to get in/around purple wire....I also used the supplied zip ties to secure in 2 different spots (1st with wire bundle coming out from connections & 2nd with wire cord just above (when mirror cover is secured) mirror cover before they both exited from hole in mirror cover) and it works great (this is my 4th car using blend mount and 3rd using mirror tap... my Audi was direct wired to fuse box).Installed my R7 today. Tapped into the fuse block with a Micro2 and using an open position. Routing down the a-pillar into the fuse box is super easy. I removed the a-pillar trim panel partially. There is a wire clipped to the panel and I didn’t mess with trying to remove it. The only drawback is that it is constant power. But, the R7 will turn off automatically after one hour of no GPS movement. Not ideal, but so be it.
I tried the Blendmount mirror tap kit and just could not find a secure enough connection. - Waste of money at least for the way my mirror power connector was made. Black ground tap was OK, but the purple power wire just would not have any of it.
Yes, I saw your pictures and they were very helpful. The black was easy. The purple just did not go. I was also using the 2nd from smallest (and tried all the others as well). It must be just enough difference in how the connector was crimped to make it a no-go. Not a problem, all my other vehicles I did a hardwire, but I figured, I try something different on the 5BW. With the hardwire I can put a remote mute switch which I will probably do eventually.Glad you got it hooked up, but sorry to hear that. I have pictures in a different thread (Post in thread 'Blendmount and mirror tap?' CT5-V - Blendmount and mirror tap?) before I secured with the zip ties.
Any worries about it being discovered? I’ve always been scared away from laser jammers whenever I’ve talked to people about themJust setup and appointment to get a Stinger laser jammer installed in two weeks. Will post some pics after the install.
I ran one in my 2011 S4 for many years. Saved my bacon at least 3 times I recall.Any worries about it being discovered? I’ve always been scared away from laser jammers whenever I’ve talked to people about them
I‘m looking forward to your impressions once installed. Is Signature audio doing the work? I thought jammers were illegal in every state. If legal in AZ, I’m very interested.Just setup and appointment to get a Stinger laser jammer installed in two weeks. Will post some pics after the install.

Hey rubberduck, why don’t you buy my car and you could be driving tomorrow, lol.Normally I tap into the fuse block. I don’t have my car yet, but I would assume there is a fuse block on either or both of the kick panels.
Hey rubberduck, not sure if things have improved over the past 5 years, but I had a stinger jammer and it basically didn't work AT ALL. I had it replaced once and the replacement also failed big time. I had ALP installed after that which is a similar type of product and it works great. Just wanted to give you a heads up because I know these things aren't cheap (was like 4k installed when I got it years ago).Just setup and appointment to get a Stinger laser jammer installed in two weeks. I agree the ALP is the best of them. Given the 5BW front end configuration it didn’t look very feasible and certainly very obvious to law enforcement. It is true the previous generation of Stinger was not very good. The most recent review on Vortex seems to indicate they fixed those issues. Alignment/pointing of the Stinger heads is very sensitive and critical and that may be the cause of some bad reviews.Hey rubberduck, not sure if things have improved over the past 5 years, but I had a stinger jammer and it basically didn't work AT ALL. Yep, I had one from 6 years ago so definitely not the latest.I agree the ALP is the best of them. Did you have a previous version that did not have the fiber optic receiver? That one I know for sure was not very good.
The newest version has 4 fibers and 4 lasers in each transmit fiber head. We’ll see what happens, I’ll be the Guinea pig.Yep, I had one from 6 years ago so definitely not the latest.
That’s where your SD slot would be if you had the PDR.Install of the Stinger competed on Friday at Signature Audio in Scottsdale. They had two two other BWs before mine, so they had a good idea where to mount the heads. One in the center under the camera and two on the lower grill off to the sides. Looks totally OEM.
There were some options for the strip panel, and I decided to put it into the little pocket on the left side of the dash. Still have no idea what that little thing was intended for, but the strip is a perfect fit and looks pretty OEM.
Very professional outfit. There were two Lamborghinis, a McLaren, a GT R, and a few Porsches in the shop at the time.
Pack of gum fits perfectly. That’s where your SD slot would be if you had the PDR.
What is the best radar solution for the CT5-B BW? The usb port is in the console, and there is no 12v or usb in the dash, so it seems only way to use a radar detector will be to have a long cord going from windshield to the armrest. Recently lost my escort solo and found out they are no longer making cordless detectors. Thanks!!!
