Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

I don't understand this obsession with the configurator - it's a marketing tool and has no impact on the dealer's ability to order.
I suspect it’s an artificial barrier for people that say they want to order a car, but subconsciously have doubts they have the ability to do so.

Looks like the first "CT5 V" designated vehicle has shown up as shipped on the website ... it isn't a Blackwing but we are making progress folks!

He's straight up lying to you. If they had an allocation and they used it for your build, it would show as having been accepted by GM within a week. If the dealer has an allocation and doesn't use it, they loose it. Not going to happen.
Well, I’m not sure it was a straight up lie, I think there’s some strange stuff going on with GM and new paint colors right now.

GM seems to be reserving 5BW allocations with new colors for high volume dealers only. New colors are indeed inbound on built cars, but not to low volume BW dealers.

My local high volume BW dealer has a Drift 5BW being built next week, but they’re charging $10k to $15k over MSRP depending on options, so I’m scratching them off the list.

Other high volume BW dealers have gotten Typhoon and Deep Space allocations, but they are too far a distance away from me.

Either way, I got my deposit back from the local dealer, and am still at Stage 1 of the goat rodeo, it seems.

Constraints are a percentage of the total available allocations. If you have your heart set on specific options / colors that are on constraint when the allocation becomes available, you're shit out of luck. The dealer can't hold the allocation until the options / colors that you want become available. Again, it's use it it loose it in regard to the allocations. The dealer will then either offer the allocation to another customer or, order it for inventory.

Yes, I understand that.

What I was pointing out here is that it seems that the 2025 new colors are being saved for the high volume BW dealers.

I assume it’s a reward for their historical sales performance. “New” typically means higher demand.

Hopefully they don't ship in production order or based on the date ordered...otherwise my car may not show up for a while... Here's hoping our Annapolis dealer gets cars next 🤞

You shouldn't let distance be a factor. Fly in, road trip home. Or just have it shipped. I'm in NC, and have bought cars as far away as NV, MI, OH, IL and FL. About half of those I went and picked up, the others got shipped.

That's true. I'm in Europe and I'm getting mine from the U.S. lol

Ha, its the inverse of "is it available?" inquiries when you're trying to sell something on CL or FB Marketplace.

I hear ya, but with all the subpar paint reports I’ve read on here, I’d really hate to fly in, find a mess of a paint job, and then deal with haggling with the dealer. I’d also be at their mercy for proper ppf, rather than just using my trusted local guy.

I’m not in a huge rush, winter is around the corner here, a spring delivery would be fine by me at this point.

Not sure what you’re talking about with in regards to new colors constraint as regarding high volume BW dealers. I have been waiting nine weeks since I got an allocation for my 5BWN ithat I wanted in Typhoon metallic, and it is at Sewell Cadillac of Houston. He has checked every other color can be built with my configuration, but there was constraint on typhoon metallic as well as the other two new colors and last time I checked, Sewell was the largest Cadillac dealer in United States

All I know is that out of the dozen local Caddy dealers I have orders in with, none have been able to get allocations with the new colors. None are high volume BW dealers.

Combined, they have gotten about a half dozen 5BW allocations in the last month or so. I passed on all because none had the color option I wanted.

However, a very high volume BW dealer near me has been able to get allocations in the new colors, but they want to charge $10-15k over MSRP (no thanks).

Another high volume BW dealer I know of, in Texas, also has orders being built in the new colors.

I’ve seen the build sheets of all of them, and they are well past 1100.

Makes me wonder if the new colors are only on constraint with low volume BW dealers, as a perk to the high volume ones. Just a theory.

Sent you a DM about this, by the way.

While it makes no logical sense to us as buyers, GM often has "late availability" with new colors. This has certainly been the case with GMC and Chevy trucks. New colors are not always available to order early in a model year (2025 Silverados have a new color called Cypress Grey, contradicting my own point this new color is already hitting dealer lots). But on 2024s, the Slate Grey and Lakeshore Blue took half a year or so before it was used. It is strange here that these colors are already landing on non-Blackwings, so why can't it be ordered on BW?

All part of the GM process. You take what is available, patiently wait for what you want, or no soup for you!!

They can be ordered on BW.

But not through most dealers. Seems only to be through larger BW dealers.

I know of multiple 5BW orders in Typhoon and one in Drift that are at the 3000 stage.

(Same with the V8V Precision Package, by the way)
