Myth busting for the sake of fellow Canucks who want get one because this is the second post here that incorrectly suggested this.
Personal experience: I’m on my second Blackwing now, first owned a ‘22 which I got after waiting about six months during all that supply chain craziness, and now own a ‘24.
In between two more allocations came up that I couldn’t take because of GM Canada rules that are intended to deter Canadian market cars from being immediately flipped for a profit to a U.S. buyer (something that may no longer be a concern because of the stupid trade war).
Was also offered an allocation after my ‘24 went into production so turned that down, too, so that’s five allocations came up for me at the two dealerships where I was on the list over the course of about 2 1/2 years.
All this to say, fellow Canucks, you can order one and have it in your driveway in Canada pretty much as quickly as anyone can in the US, just call around, find a dealership or two that has or have received one or two before and whose list isn’t too long, and put your refundable deposit or deposits down and wait a few months until one of your Bingo cards is called.
Of course now you may have to pay 25% more for one (see stupid tariffs comment above, though I suppose that probably has had the unintended positive effect for me, at least, of increasing the value of my ‘24).
