I went down this rabbit hole for a bit, and the short answer is that there are always some tells that a watch is fake. Shape, weight, finishing, printing, function, etc. Some clones have a ton of market interest and they are pretty close (Daytona for example). Some factories even have cloned movements. Others are really far off if you have a genuine watch to compare to. They're all made in China.Page

I knew fake watches must exist, but this is the first time I've seen carbon copy fakes being openly sold as fakes. They even claim to be based in the USA.
Other than pure trust, how do you detect these ?
Anyone ever compared them side by side ?
Are the aftermarket dealers up front about their methods to determine authenticity ?
