Well...shit...I tried deleting a couple posts out of the old order tracking thread and I apparently nuked the whole damn thread! :r :hb

NOTE: the order tracking system is for U.S. based orders only. I can only view orders placed with dealers in the U.S.
NOTE: I will only track ONE order per member. If you have orders in at multiple dealers, pick one...

I had full carbon fiber package on my c7 zo6/z07. It always worried me that if I messed up and hit a pot hole or went into an approach at the wrong angle I would destroy the front splitter. They are very expensive. Love the look of the carbon fiber. Happy I ordered this car without
Same I had a C7.R edition and I was terrified to scrape anything on it.

If they didn't do this, they'd end up like Tesla owners whose cars sit for months in the collision center parking lot due to lack of parts availability.
Makes sense

I have a strong feeling the aftermarket will catch up and you’ll be able to do a full CF set for 2-3 grand down the road. I just want the car and I can do all the other stuff later.
Agreed....

I don't even really care for the crap "CF" myself but the car really needs it to look and function as engineered. Yes, the price is ridiculous for for the Factory packages. Problem is aftermarket usually sucks the load and fit and finish will suck too and not align/seat properly. It's not a Corvette so the CF crap will not be 1cm off the pavement and scrapped and shattered as you pull out of the crappy approach from Dealer after taking delivery.

I will wait until order fills at Cadillac on my order so I get the seatbacks and CF1 package the way it should be.

I've had some great aftermarket CF pieces before, just depends on the company. The ride height of the blackwing will definitely be a lot more forgiving than a Vette though. I won't be tracking often, and I can't push a car hard enough to see the limits where the CF would make a difference. Visually though i agree, it definitely needs something to make it pop more.

@V_G_M_3pedalonly I agree with @SOP if it truly is going to be a big problem for you not getting it then I would wait, especially if a possible price increase won't dissuade you.

Honestly I was kind of in that mindset when I first ordered in October because I wasn't in a hurry at all. So I ordered mine with CF1 and CF2. However, as time when on and supply chain getting worse, another covid outbreak, war, inflation, etc. I am worried that GM will increase the 2023 price. Maybe they won't, but I don't know, I think there's a better chance they will. Or even if they don't change right away with 2023s, they probably will eventually.

If price goes up by 5 - 10% you are talking a possibly price swing of $15k - $20k from a non-carbon 2022 to a carbon 2023. To me the carbon isn't worth that. I think the car still looks pretty good without it and hopefully the aftermarket eventually comes to the rescue. In the end, personally, the 5 BW wasn't on my radar really because of how it looked anyways. It was more about everything else.

I skipped the CF and went for the Electric Blue. My car does not need any more pop;)

I would like the rear aero, it really completes the look. The front plastic splitter is fine, the CF one will break quickly anyway and not spending $2K to replace it. I asked my dealer if they will be able to order and retrofit the rear areo. - Haven’t heard back from them.

I think most experts are saying prices will rise next year. With the current and predicted status of things in the world, there just won't be much choice. For me, going from a 21 to a 22 CT5-V there was not much $$ change at all.
They did make some 21 options standard for 22, but they were options I was already getting, so the price was just about a wash.

if you're feeling frisky

As per my dealer, my order got skipped two months ago (ordered in August), because I have the CF back seats as well and CF1 package. So current advise is to remove all CF packages to get the car built. At this point I'm debating whether it is worth doing that or just wait it out. But since there is no ETA on CF stuff, who knows if car will ever be built before Cadillac decide to jump to electric.

Gotta be honest with you guys, with production numbers hovering around a thousand annually per 4BW/5BW, there's not a good case for ROI for much aftermarket support. Especially when GM has said these cars are end of the road products.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Tapout tuning hinted at a CF hood for at least the 4BW, but they "tapped out" due to lack of a market.

If that’s the case the factory stuff will prove to be really valuable and at the rate they are making it, quite rare.

Well, people are going to be tearing up the CF splitter so they better plan to make something in terms of a replacement part.

That is true, but I come from the Lotus car community where 1000 is a lot of cars in a year and there is still an after market for those cars. Some of which that are carbon parts that are way more complex than anything on the Blackwings.

That being said there also may be more of a desire for carbon parts on a Lotus over a Caddy (per capita), plus Lotus owners may also be willing to spend more on such parts just because they are used to having to pay more due to such limited production numbers. So when it comes to a LE caddy then I can see these company's used to selling parts for much higher production cars feeling the market isn't there.

Only time will tell.

Tapout actually got in touch with the GM engineers while in development on their hood. They deemed it wasn't going to be any measurable improvement over the stock hood so there was no point in production.
