Any pics or videos of Deep Space Metallic on a real car?

How close is it to shadow metallic? Shadow had a blueish hue to it. I was hoping DSM would be close to it.

I was at my dealer yesterday poking around. They have a Deep Space Metallic CT5 Sport on the floor. Here's a pic for all of you. To me, it's a dark gray, although it has some gold metallic flakes in it. I'd like to see it in the sun.

It looks lighter than I thought it would. But hard to get a true sense of it under artificial lighting. Would you say it’s lighter than Shadow Metallic?

There we go. This photo matches my experience with it. It's gray and not blueish.

Ordered a 5BW last Thursday and dealer said deep space is not available yet and they won’t know when it will be available until mid October. Does anyone know when deep space will be available on the 5BW? I’m willing to wait to mid October if it will be available in October, for example, but I’d hate to wait to mid October to find out deep space won’t be available until February. Thanks.

I would agree that it is lighter than Shadow, more grey. I like the gold flake in it. They supposedly have two or three. I'll check the lot and see if they are there and try to get pix. They might be in transit.

I tried to place my order yesterday and they still have to get back to me, but he said it seemed like there was a constraint on the dark colored wheels and something else very simple. I think the ordering system is not fully up and running properly for the 2025 models.

I think DSM looks nice. Was torn between DSM and Drift on Bronze, but the youtube video helped get a better sense of what to expect.

Hey Nicky, check out these photos. Took my wife by a local dealer to look at XT4s today. Spotted this CT4V in DSM:

I owned a 2022 CT4-V Blackwing while I waited for my 5. Shadow Metallic. I'll tell you in person, the colors are real similar.

Splitting hairs to try and describe how they differ, but depending on how you feel about Shadow Metallic, if you have seen that, should help decide on DSM. Stating the obvious, the blue really pops under direct sunlight. The color is much more "mysterious" in indirect / lower light. If you order it, go for the bronze wheels, IMO.

Unlikely to ever run into a Shadow 5BW since only 127 were made. Best color for my preference in 2022. Wanted something dark, but not black (learned my lesson on my S4) and under the radar.

Probably the least popular color on a 22. I loved it. Already seen multiple ones for sale used, the one on this site was a good deal.

Well even less Infrared (122) were made in 2022 so maybe that’s even less popular?

No idea. You would need to ask people who don't own either color which they prefer. I like Infrared a lot, but am a discreet person and would not own a red car. As stated, I like and bought a Shadow Metallic, and don't really care what anyone else thinks. Now with DSM, anyone can get virtually the same color.

My new car is Black Diamond Tricoat. I am so head over heels for the color, best ever in my book. But the car has sat on a lot for months. Very polarizing and unpopular. And I could care less.

Glad to share the photos. As I stared at it, I really thought what I could add to describe how it differs from the Shadow I owned. I would say Deep Space Metallic is more gray, if anything. But obviously, this color has a lot of blue in it. I did like it quite a bit.

I like the idea of flying under the (police) radar a little bit more with it versus radiant red. I loved my black one, but just too dirty always. This would be marginally better, haha.

Black is cool and a great choice for a MB S580 or Esky. It’s the paint maintenance that kills it for me. Bird shit on it for than a few minutes in the Arizona summer sun becomes more or less permanent. After some years the swirls become more pronounced and never looks quite as good.

So far two years later my Shadow paint looks as awesome as ever.
