Initial musings from a new owner of 2025 CT4-V Blackwing

15.
There should be an on/off switch for the pad. I'm nervous to put anything there other than my phone. Even at that it becomes a better heat source than the sun if I leave it on too long. It's basically a flat spot to store things, but you can't store things there. I have yet to find a good spot to keep my phone in this car.
That is crazy. Even way cheaper cars have figured this out, it's not that hard. At this point, I would've preferred some USB ports in that spot and I'll just use a cable.

Ive found the charging pad to be finnicky with phone placement but it does work fine once the phone is happy with its specific placement. Typically it will start to charge for about 5 or 6 seconds and then stop. I just move it like 1mm and it starts again and usually will stay charging until a bump or turn moves the phone a little and it stops.

Thats fair. Dangerous in the sense, could your phone trip the fuse ultimately giving the airbag no juice as well?

Says the person with an avatar of a woman hanging out of a car with an AK.

Where is your sense of ADVENTURE?!
Adventure is her being my girlfriend!

For the record,
JKJK, never met her. Only saw her on the news.

Congrats !!

Don't get too excited about the points. I only earned enough for one oil change.........

I can't believe anyone would consider thousands of $$$ for magic saran wrap that's supposedly keeps away paint gremlins. Invest it and get a whole new paint job when it gets that bad.
My then 8K mile or so 4BW took a wheel weight to the lower nose. The PPF took the brunt of the hit. All that was necessary was a bit of touch up paint and a new piece of film. Without the PPF, it would have needed body work to repair the damage.

This is the only 'good' picture I have during Friday's pickup. No new pix as it's in the shop for PPF/ceramic. I was debating over the last few days and I got quote from one of the shops that was recommended highly by several friends who are also car guys. I was hoping they'd give me some kind of break because it was basically a referral. As I was enjoying a beer slushie (mango, passion, guava and yes, it was delicious) on break today, I got a call from the detail because they had a dealer cancellation tomorrow. If was I interested in taking over the slot, they'd drop it 20%. DONE. Can't wait to see that thing sparkle on Thursday.

As I drove to the shop, I went into the wrong lot. Driving through the lot, someone was leaving their office and did a double take, eyeing me as I looped around, smiling. He was BW fan and hadn't seen many, I'm guessing.

Just picked it up after PPF and ceramic. Definitely pops now. And of COURSE, by the time I got home and left it in the driveway for a bit, damn trees dropped sap. W/ the cleaner, came off easily, unlike having to deal w/ my wife's Tesla and that dang soft paint.

The ceramic properties a lot of PPF films have these days is really awesome. Makes cleaning the front end a breeze after road trips and track days.
