4BW died at 1500 miles

I don't think you qualify for the lemon law yet. The dealership is allowed a reasonable amount of attempts to repair the problem according to Connecticut lemon laws.

Bought brand new, dead twice in a month. I don't have time to deal with these issues with a 4-week-old car.

Back to the drawing board, probably ordering an M3
I came from an M3, the 4BW is better in almost every way, at least to me. My 4BW has 900 miles on it and a CEL, but no symptoms.

if my 4BW winds up being a problem, I am not sure I would get the M3 again.......definitely not the manual transmission the M3, its so bad.

I came from an M4 and this CT5VBW is so much better in every way (except MPG LOL). But one thing I've come to realize is that it's a bit TOO much for my daily driving requirements. I also have no need for a 4dr super sedan right now. I'd never go back to BMW M cars as they've lost the mark in styling and driving engagement, so I've kicked around the idea of getting a Porsche (probably 992.1 S model).

Funny enough I stopped by the dealership yesterday for an oil change and the sales manager came over and asked if I'd be willing to sell my car. So I told him "Everything is for sale for the right price." He threw me a number that was way more than what carmax or carvana offered so now I'm even more tempted....

Sell your 5 BW and get a 4....would be a better daily than a 992...very satisfying car and not too much like I imagine a 5 might be (better mpg as well...I get 20 mpg+ with mixed driving). If I were to get an M car it would be the prior gen M2 comp....MT of course and would be fun and somewhat practical.

Better yet get a used e46 ZHP...couldn't ask for a better daily driver...for real...

The 4 is still a 4 door sedan I don't need. My girl has a SUV if we need more space for anything.

I have considered the M2 tho. I hear they're great fun cars. Definitely wouldn't be newer as I hate all the digital screens across the entire dash.

I got rid of my CT5-V Blackwing because I finally got an allocation for my 992.1 S (with a manual, of course). When I traded it in on my Acura Integra Type S, the paperwork guy couldn't understand why I was trading it for the Integra, but as soon as I mentioned the 911 allocation, I got a "oh, well then, I completely understand."

As for the claim that the CT4-V would be a better daily driver than a 911... of course it is. It's basically a tarted up CT4 (as my Acura is basically a tarted up Civic), but you really can't compare a 911 to a (basically) 4-door Cadillac sedan. That's like saying a Tesla 3 is a better daily driver than a 911 (which it is, depending on what metrics you're measuring).

I'd like to hear more about what you think of the Acura, I've read good things...

I had an M2. Didn't care for it .

A 911 would be a great car - don't get me wrong (though I've always preferred the Caymen myself)....however I've heard and read several folks complaining about it as a daily as it isn't the most easy/comfortable car as compared to a CT 4 V BW for instance (which is...while still being quite engaging).

Zygrene on YouTube (who owns and tracks a handling modded Acura Integra Type S) did an interesting comparo a few years back of a Caymen with an M2 comp and felt the M2 was more "fun" as well as a more practical daily over the Caymen. As I recall he felt the Caymen was almost too good....too capable and serious while the M2 was more playful feeling.

Integra Type S seems like a really capable and fun car....but it is FWD. I love my very fast and capable GTI (which I used to refer to as GT3 killer...mostly because a friend with a GT3 always declined to race me)....but I curse FWD nearly every time I drive it (particularly in the wet). I'm very glad to have the 4 BW over the Type S for exactly that reason....and while a bit porky for me its still incredibly engaging and can be pushed hard with great reward. Its also quite cushy when you want it to be.

Before I bought the 4 BW what I really wanted was a Caymen or Boxster but my wife refused to consider such an "impractical" car...so I was thinking we'd likely get an M2 comp....until I became aware of the 4 BW. I'd also considered an RS3...but no MT really took it out of the picture. I also liked the Audi TTRS quite a bit (love that engine)....but again it would have to be an older one with MT (and convincing the wife probably would be a no go).

As for the Porsche's...again....the more I read about and watch vids of the newer ones....the more I think that maybe they're not what I'm after. Of course I say this without ever having driven one. Auto...even PDK is just not for me...and the tall gearing in the MT seems like it would limit the fun (though CT 4 V BW gearing is tall but still engaging enough). And in some ways being too good - too capable - along with heavier - makes it (Porsches) less appealing in many ways. And track driving is not what I'm going for.

These days I find myself lusting after 2nd gen MR2s and even Miatas....though I'd want more power in both (and such can be had). Anyway just my $.02...for what its worth.
