2025 Surround Vision Recorder switched to USB?

There is a vague comment about it being replaced under a new name in a later OTA update but could be BS.

Based on this video, there is a good possibility that SVR will be replaced with a new feature that will require a monthly subscription once we get an OTA update -

Seems to only save recordings to the "cloud" based on the video

If it works as seamlessly as in the video, I wouldn't mind paying a small fee for it

If you scroll through Onstar plans, my guess is that they will charge $50/month for this. Streaming data over Onstar/ATT's network + Cloud storage is not cheap and they are clearly struggling with developing it as it hasn't been rolled out to any GM vehicle yet.

There is a hack to use it by inserting a USB flash drive and then calling up the surround recording via voice command.

That’s dope. It’s in the trunk right? I seem to recall reading about it, but thought it only worked if you had the performance package with the PDR.

…and the air filter is new. It used to be an ionizer, but none of the cars have that an an option anymore either.

I got the parking package specifically for the air filter. Here in California the wildfire smoke can be real bad. I also wanted cameras to ensure I don’t scrape this beauty on any curbs when parking.

GM has a great (and surprisingly inexpensive) camera system for their cars. The 360 view is outstanding. I also use the side camera view to avoid scraping on the side of my somewhat narrow garage opening.

Can confirm that the SVR doesn't work in a 2025 5BW. Hopefully there is a OTA update for this. This combined with the fact that the blind spot monitoring is missing in the manual 2025 5BW almost made me regret buying a 2025 model if not because I like the new screen and the new front end.

"Blind Zone Steering Assist" is standard and no longer excluded from the 6MT for 2026 according to the ordering guide so you can get it if you want to trade your 25 for a 26 .

I wonder if that means the 2025 can have it with a firwmware update. I'm very curious if 2025's have the indicator in the side view mirrors!

You’re a more patient man than I am if you could wait a year just so that you don’t have to check over your shoulder.

Does yours have the parking package? I could’ve swore that mine buzzed my ass when it thought I was gonna switch lanes with a car in it… but maybe I’m wrong. I didn’t get to drive it much (40 miles tops).

Whether the indicators are in the mirrors or on the D.I.C. I’m not sure. The manual says it has indicators in the mirrors… so hell if I know. I will when I can drive mine again.

That's more likely for the slushbox version.

Picking up mine tomorrow so will check but I don't see it listed on the window sticker.

I bought it on Saturday so have already driven it. Dropped it off at the dealer yesterday to take care of the couple of minor issues and recall check.

My prefered color was Typhoon green but got the Radiant Red Tincoat (as it was unclaimed and was delievered at the dealer with all the right options) which is growing on me.

Yooo, I think we talked about that last week. I got pretty much the exact one you were looking for with a lot of persistence and sheer luck!. You can always buy a new paint job. That’s what I thought I would have to do. I was gonna buy a silver one that was 10k cheaper and have it painted green metallic.

I ended up finding the exact car I would have ordered minus the bronze wheels. It’s Typhoon Metallic, Tan high performance seats, parking package, bronze calipers, and manual transmission.

I picked it up Tuesday last week, and immediately took it to a place to have PPF/ceramic/tint on the whole thing. So I’ve only actually driven it 40 miles, and because of life circumstances I won’t be able to pick it up until Monday. It’s almost as bad as the waiting while it was in transit. Maybe even worse actually, because I know what I’m missing.

Doesn't seem like it. The specific RPO and feature is not listed in the 2026 order guide and there doesn't appear to be anything else indicating an equivalent, outside of the PDR capability to record in a dash cam manner.
