Granted, I'm contradicting myself by saying I actually love winter. However, now that the temps are getting much colder and snow is in the forecast, I won't be able to drive my girl that I just received last month. Looking into a winter shoe setup doesn't appear to be the right move considering the towns salt the heck out of my roads. As they say, "it is what it is."

Had to vent as I'm sure others can relate to this.

I can relate! Socked in here in the Seattle suburbs and there's no way I'm getting stuff they treat the roads (brine?) in my undercarriage. 5BW is now a garage queen until the snow and slush are gone and we've had some rain to clean the salt (?) off the roads. (I otherwise have no concerns driving it in the rain other than getting tired of hand-cleaning this black beauty.)

They used to pretreat the roads here with brine until it was discovered that undercarriages were rotting out at an alarming rate (n)

Tough weather thru Midwest and Northeast! If you can figure out a breakaway from it, this is coming up end of January! Love to see some of the other BW family there!

I had to go from truck trailer straight into garage due to MN snow. I have driven my blackwing probably a 100 ft.

Damn that really puts things in prospective! At least I have 410 miles on the clock.

I may put her up on jack stands so when I start her up over the winter I can go through the gears and at least feel/hear the lovely exhaust. Did this with my other whips.

I too am looking forward to spring showers to wash any lingering brine/salt remains. I least I had the summer and fall to roll up over 2000 miles. I just underwent shoulder surgery on right side so I'm sidelined. Making the best out of it. So I hang out in the garage and look at it and it makes me smile every time like it's the first time.

The 5BW doesn't like subzero temps. -2 (-25 with wind chill) and it took an extra few beats to start and when it did, threw a CEL. Not sure if it was because of the exhaust valves... It didn't sound like they opened at first.
