Who Wants the First Corsa CT5-V Blackwing Exhaust System?

We've sold a LOT of these systems. There is no drone and everyone loves them. Also note that we do have all nine part numbers in stock for immediate shipment.

I’m told Corsa is currently developing a kit for the CT5-V 3.0TT? Is there any truth to this.. It would sell like hot cakes. All the car needs minus some more horsepower is to be louder!

Is there any possibility of a video showing the axle back versus the cat back? Trying to determine if the X-Pipe coming off the cat is what makes the greatest change in sound or what. I'd love for it to be quiet as stock with the valves closed, and a lot more sound with them open.

Comparison videos, including with decibel meters, would be awesome.

I’m installing the full system today.

Ok… install done. Holy crap. It’s a whole other level of low-end loud. The burble is amplified and seemingly occurs all the time now. I do pick up a slight drone under 3K RPM in 2nd-3rd. I never used Tour Mode as I’ve never felt stock was that loud, neighbors never cared. I’m absolutely using Tour Mode in and out of my hood now…

Speaking of Tour Mode, it’s significantly more quiet then stock when valves are closed. It’s literally a Jekyll & Hyde exhaust system.

I noticed some interesting designs in the flapped bypass pipes from the muffler. The quietness I’m guessing is a product of only allowing the flow out the baffling holes, which makes sense.

I set the flaps to Tour Mode prior to install. No errors yet. Flaps function perfectly, thank god. The only pain in the ass was getting the tips to align in both X/Y axis…

So the drone does not occur in Tour mode, just with valves open? Is it a 100% you would recommend mod?

No.. with valves closed, almost all the exhaust note disappears. Here are a few crappy vids from my iPhone. The mic on the iPhone clipped when with the cold start because it was so loud. But you'll here me flipping between Tour and open. The iPhone just can't capture the sound correctly and looses top end sound as well as low end.

Observations so far...

- Gears 1-3, open valves, 1K-5K RPMs, absolutely nuts, burbles sounds like machine gun fire.
- Gears 4-6, open valves, tamer under 4K RPMs, above 4K its screaming again. Machines gun fire not AS intense.
- Valves closed. Sounds like standard CT5, seriously. Car disappears.
- Important Note: The mufflers hang lower then stock, no matter how high I attempted to secure them. I was reminded of this today when backing into a parking spot and hear the o'so dreadful scrapping of the muffler onto the cement parking block.. Pro tip, when backing in, stop before the block passes the bumper line in the camera... Now I have a nice dent/scraps on the inside left and right mufflers. (f me)

I have zero regrets. I still need to adjust the tips in a bit and get them aligned better but I'm smoked from the install. This exhaust is night and day different then the stock. No exaggeration.

(cold start in garage)
(valves open/closed)
(riding 2nd around, the exhaust scream clips out unfortunately)

Wait wait, lol. That little bit of drone, did that occur with the valves open or closed? I was a little confused by your reply, sorry!

Otherwise, thank you for the info!

I was thinking about the axle-back only, but now you got me thinking catback 😯

That sounds FANTASTIC!! Jeez I wish my car sounded like that!

But . . . those hanging down mufflers have bothered me from the day the system was announced and your issue with them today backing up highlights that. Ugh come on, Corsa - redesign that aspect please!

Looks wise, from behind, the two mufflers, hanging at an angle, give me those JDM vibes. I don’t mind the look. I just wasn’t anticipating how low they’d be. Perhaps they can be adjusted higher but they hang from rear axle hangers so you can only move them so much vertically.

Meh.. is what it is, they sound bat shit crazy, so winning.

Maybe do like the BMW guys and paint them flat black (high temp of course)? Maybe they just need some adjustment? Do you even see them just normal, walking around the car?

Doesn't look bad from other pics I have seen:

Really depends on the angle in which you look at it. From the angle of the Corsa shots, the mufflers aren’t as present. I measured the can to ground height and I’m about 5” at lowest. I’m going to try and adjust more but we’ll see.

Wow that does seem low 🤔

Definitely flat black spray paint to hide them

Does anyone have a video of just the axle-back? I have the catback and have been thinking about going back to the stock midpipe to tame it down a little for everyday driving.

Can't just put it in tour mode for everyday driving?

It’s definitely quiet in Tour mode, but I’m wondering if the stock midpipe would change the character of the sound (i.e. a little less raspy). Cold starts in Tour mode sound a little bit like tin cans rattling on mine. That being said, I still love the exhaust overall.

Hmmmmm. That does seem low 🧐
