You have to turn the wheel a specific number of degrees (usually 15) left and right of center. The machine measures the camber change as the wheel turns and that tells you the caster. It’s called a camber sweep. How does a machine even measure caster? I get camber and toe, but how does a machine know what the geometry of the strut is?
Ah, good to know. You have to turn the wheel a specific number of degrees (usually 15) left and right of center. The machine measures the camber change as the wheel turns and that tells you the caster. It’s called a camber sweep.
You can do the same with the little camber gauges that you stick on the wheel and some turn plates.
