Subwoofer Install

So I actually got a reply back from LLJ on which harness to use based off the code for 4BWs. Here's the one that you need.

I haven't purchased it. I ended up just cutting all 3 wires the day before they sent the reply back. I haven't drove the car since cutting the wires so I don't know if I have any feedback still or louder noise driving the car.

I'm still getting weird bass signals though. It's really reserved at first then gradually comes in after a few secs or adjust the volume. It then gets almost clipped when the volume gets half way up.

Do you have your back seat folded down? Everything is stock on my car, but I noticed some weird reverbs with one of the back seats folded down.

Has anyone considered replacing this speaker (subwoofer?) with an aftermarket one and powering it with an amp? Do an infinite baffle setup?

You'd have to fabricate an adapter because the mount there is only four points when most aftermarket speakers are 8. If I had a 3d printer, I might try to homebrew something.

I mean, that wouldn’t be all that difficult. I imagine just put some holes/bolts where you need it and do some work making the deck rattle-proof right?

Yeah if you want to go putting more holes into the sheet metal that's 100% an option I didn't think of I guess because it's so damn simple and obvious. You're right just get some extra thick gasket material and fit the beefiest woofer you can find in there.

That doesn't really solve the ANC conflicts though, does it? It just gives a convenient mounting location rather than a speaker housing that others are using.

Lol yeah, what would be your solution? Making an adaptor then bolting the sub to said adaptor? Then attaching the adaptor to the 4 mounting points? I’m not sure if those 4 points could handle say… 500 watts?

No it doesn’t. I wasn’t really putting much thought into the ANC issue… truthfully I think I’ll be removing it. It seems like the ANC system is much less than it claims to be. From what I’ve gathered, it’s a microphone that pumps/excludes certain exhaust sounds to the cabin.

If it doesn’t actually remove road noise, I personally don’t really care

So I've driven mine since removing the ANC. Road noise seems the same to me. That could be me though as the PS4s are just loud on the roads I have around here.

Exhaust sounds louder though compared so the ANC does tone that down.

I still haven't figured out the weird bass issue I'm having. Any time during a song has no bass, I lose the bass signals. I'll have to turn the volume back up to regain it but it comes in at max. It's not the amp or sub as they worked prior in my truck before taking it out. I think it's the signal from the factory sub so I'll have to figure out where to grab another signal from.

I understand these sound systems will disconnect a speaker if it is not receiving any input from the radio. Im not saying this is your issue, but something to consider.

It sounds like you may have a loose connection somewhere? How is the remote wire for your amp setup?

Connections are good. I've double checked all the wiring. I'm using a lc2i for remote.

It's going in to the audio place tomorrow that installed it. Hopefully they can get it figured out.

Yeah it’s possible they’re using a speaker wire to show power to the remote input of the amp. The amp is shutting off when there’s no bass playing, then turns on when you crank it. Good luck with it

Just in case anyone needs it. I grabbed these wiring diagrams from the dealership. I think it’s wiring for both the ct4v and the blackwing. Unfortunately I don’t know which is which.

Just to add to your information and maybe provide some context, this is the index document for Figures 1-10 that correspond to the Documents in your list in order, except for Figure 8 which is Document 5867587 where the others are 5751152 (Fig 1) to 5751160 (Fig 10). Also, I included the Figure 10 (5751160) which is the ANC.
