Seat Belt Chime Disable

People have an amazing ability to see only the statistics and arguments that fit their narrative and agenda.....Confirmation bias.....You can find a way to justify almost any nonsense.

I'm a big believer in seat belts (and have come around on air bags after first - a long time ago - being a skeptic). I wear belts 100% in all cars now. But it wasn't always that way. Up until maybe 5-10 years ago I wouldn't wear my belts in our old classic Mustang. My wife constantly berated me about not wearing them. My response was - "this car will never be in an accident so why do I need to wear seat belts?" I've come around so everyone is happy now. And still no accidents for the Stang...

Waay back in the day when I was a youngster my dad had a friend who survived his MG being crushed be a semi. He wasn't wearing belts so was ejected and managed only minor injuries. A miracle....but very much an exception to the rule I think.
I am super proud for you. You are awesome!

Plus with the Caddy your airbag deployment will give you a nice emblem tattoo. -Something to brag about to your friends.

Back in the day my stepbrother was ejected from a horrific crash in an old bug and would have likely been killed without that. But, I wear my seatbelt always. A habit from my private pilot days. I can guarantee if you don’t wear a seatbelt in a single engine aircraft you will get injured.

I don’t understand why people don’t wear seatbelts. I don’t even notice it’s on me. Do they actually believe it’s statistically safer to not wear one?

Here’s another thing to ponder. Would you drive a passenger that refused to wear a seatbelt?
Yes, I do not like seatbelts, I don’t give a shit what you think about them.

Perhaps they would like to not die in an accident, take a flight though the windshield, or have the air bag explode into their face or experience a litany of other possibilities resulting from unsecured passengers in a moving vehicle coming to a stop in a fraction of a second.
Sure, whatever you say. They can do what they want, I do not like them and will never wear them.

I’d be more afraid of being paralyzed than dying in regards to not wearing a seatbelt.

You guys do you, but I feel for your families and the people that care about you if something does happen. But, as obstinate as you are being, maybe they don’t want you wearing seatbelts. 😉

I’m pretty sure people on this forum don’t care what you do either. People are just sharing their experiences. They are just as valid as yours. When not wearing a seatbelt it’s probably a good idea to disable the airbags by pulling the fuse. Even a minor fender bender may cause a bad injury from the airbags. - They weren’t designed to work properly without seatbelts.

I do not like them and will never wear them.
I must be missing something here? I don't recall you saying why you dislike wearing seatbelts. What is your reason for having such a dislike for them. Not trying to argue.......just trying to understand.

They annoy me, and they are useless….not needed

He does his own crash testing and safety research. I believe him.
Hey....is this RiptideHTC's second account by any chance? My spidy sense picks up a few similarities.
Are you really this bored?

Get a life and quit commenting on this over and over.

Probably not survivable without a seatbelt. The kid driving this was hanging unconscious by his belt when we got to him. This happened in front of my property 4 years ago.
