Hi All,

I have 2024 CT5 BW and I am planning to order a 2026 and I would like to know from the owners of PP Cars , how is it?

Is it more "precise" on the street? Is the car still dailyable ? If you had a previous blackwing without PP and now have it on your new car, would you do it again ?

I know that Matt Farah has a review on it on Youtube, but I want to hear it from the owners, the actual people who sleep and wake up to this car and put thousands of miles on it.

Stephen

Bear in mind that the ongoing cost to the handling improvement: R compound tires.

Such a massive compromise for a daily driver, unless you are in SoCal (and there isn't an "atmospheric river" in the neighborhood) and you don't have an issue replacing tires every 5k miles.

Saw on facebook this morning someone took delivery of their 25 PP 6MT

I feel I will need to evaluate this for myself. Anyone wish to loan me their car for a week while I do a thorough write-up for the forum?

Back in the day I ran Nitto NT-01's on my Evo. Coming from a Yoko Advan there was substantial difference between the two. The Yoko was a sticky tire too. If you remove the carbon ceramics, is the PP really worth the upgrade for the other parts changed or is the tire the real game changer?

The Sport Cup 2's are a 0 cost option with the PP. You can still get the car with the PS4S's from the factory with the PP.
Cadillac website confirms that they are being built. Here is a PP built car with CF1 & CF2 (and just about every other option as well):

Interesting build - top tier performance specs along with all of the exterior carbon fiber bits and some sort of "red package"....but with base seats? Not sure if someone spending $150k+ on this car after TTL is going to be enthused about sitting on the same seats you get in a $50k CT5.

R compound tires have to be contributing a whole lot to the overall improvement.

The problem I have with that is paying $9k more over the CCBs and then feeling obligated to keep the R compounds on the car to get the full effect.

Then I’d be terrified to drive in the rain or cold, or take a long road trip in case the weather turned… let alone the terror of having to pay $1k every 5k miles if I dare daily drive it.

As I posted on other threads, if this 5BW was a weekend toy or had the rest of the form factor of a track car, this makes sense. As a daily driven sedan, to me this makes no sense.

I think you’re missing the point. The R compounds are fundamental to taking advantage of the rest of the suspension tuning.

Softer sidewall, deeper tread street tires aren’t going to allow you to use the rest of the suspension settings to their potential.

Heck, R compounds alone on a non-PP car will dramatically improve handling.

Just grab it with the R compounds and order the OEM 4S from Costco or somewhere to swap on for daily usem. I'd keep the R compounds for track day only (and when I wear them out, get the extended 240 wear variant at Costco.)

Now that actually makes pretty good sense.

If I wanted to track my 5BW, doing what you describe might just make my buy the PP.

I guess I didn’t think of that since I don’t intend to track my BW (I have dedicated track toys for that).

You’d need to add in a dedicated set of wheels, too, of course…

Huh, didn't even notice that it had PP when I looked at it in the showroom. Told the salesman they made a mistake by not ordering the better seats. I also think the red accent package is terrible on it though. The wheel caps are too bright and the stickers look cheap.

Now I'm tempted to go back and take them up on the test drive offer though. We didn't do it when I was there because it would have taken too long to move everything else out of the way...

@CB34

Can you please explain this? Is the build tool on Cadillac’s web site incorrect? Not being wise, just looking to learn how you know.

According to the web site build tool, competition tires are required when Precision Package is selected.
