Not a Giulia convert, but I was interested in the Quadrifoglio platform when shopping for a car. New ones were outside my budget and then no manual option could get boring soon.

2024 CT4 V BW Mid St Met MT
The Giulia's all seem like great drivers cars and the QF is a performance beast right on the level of a CT 4 V BW. Too bad no MT.
On this episode of the Curmudgeon Show Derek Tam briefly discusses his father's Giula QF and while very nice falls short of the CT 4 V BW in his opinion.

Griffmac12 - Congrats and let us know your thoughts on how the CT 4 V BW compares to the QF. I love both...but am happy with the Caddy. If Alpha came in MT I would have considered it.

Will do. I will drive it a bit more and write something more detailed. Initial impressions
Damping = edge Cadillac. I think Alfa is too bouncy above normal mode. I don't mind stiff - just stop bouncing. GMs work with damping is next level and far ahead of rest of segment.
Steering Feel = edge Alfa. Feels more a little better to me in all modes. Alfa also less affected by ruts and road crown etc.
Engine = need to get out of break-in period but I have probably test driven 3.6tt enough to say Alfa wins. That QV engine sounds great and feels explosively fast
Interior = to each his own. I prefer analog gauges and design aesthetic of QV but both are comfortable and have plenty of buttons for important things.
Other big random edge = Cadillac throttle tuning is much better. Alfa is far too sensitive above normal modes. Biggest miss of the car IMO. If I had kept, I would have eventually had to get a tune to fix this.
Clearly, the biggest difference is CT4V has a truly great manual which is really why I made the switch. I shopped them auto to auto a coupe of years ago and got the Alfa probably mostly because of looks to be honest. The ZF 8 speed is really nicely tuned to that car also. But comparing Auto to auto feels like a personal preference choice to me.. I like both better than M3 Comp I drove for a week (actually it was an M4 but I don't think that matters.

I think the chassis on the CT 4 V BW is out of this world good - its probably the most special thing about the car. The steering is also great with great feel for EPS and of course the Tremec is a first rate shifting experience.
I've never driven a Guilia QF but did get to sit in one and play with the drive modes/exhaust sounds and man what sweet music it is. Its certainly a very special engine with a bit more character then the Caddy's...but I've really come to appreciate the engine in the BW the more I drive and push it.
I like the interior of the Alpha - classy IMO (the one I sat in had some special edition red leather and accents which quite improved the normal all black). Still, for me, the BW interior is spot on - super functional with well placed intuitive hard buttons and I find the seating and everything about the interior to be first rate. I don't need Bently plush its plenty nice enough IMO. I've done several long trips in it very comfortably feeling well at home. AKG sound is very nice....perhaps not top of its class but plenty good (and I'm a bit of an audiophile).
Test and comparisons clearly show that a stock QF is noticeably quicker (in a straight line) than a stock 4 BW...but I gather the engine is pretty maxed out. I've added the Tapout Tuning larger airflow MAF and ported throttle body resulting in approx 90+hp. A mod I highly recommend. My guess is my 4 BW is at least as quick as a QF now and comparisons seem to indicate that the 4 BW is better on track and likely in the twisties. Neither is a slouch and I think both have great driving dynamics, with plenty of power and great fun factor.
Its interesting that you prefer the steering on the Alpha as several reviewers have commented that its a bit too sensitive. I've also heard this WRT braking - overly sensitive and difficult to modulate. I find the braking in the Caddy to be fantastic and I wouldn't even know its brake by wire.
Again, I'm sure I would love owning/driving a QF....but the MT alone makes me glad to be driving the BW. I've only had one other automatic (aside from my classic Mustang). It was a supercharged Mazda Milenia...a great car that reminds me a lot of the BW - other than not being a manual and also being FWD (executed incredibly well). That car was the only car I owned that I sold without driving it 100K+ miles and as great as it was I wasn't unhappy to move on as I was always missing MT.
And I do really like how the 4 V BW looks - particulalry with the aftermarket bronze Apex wheels...but no question the Alpha is a supreme looker and clearly wins on that front.

I too am a QV convert and that was definitely a sweet-handling car: think a direction and the car would point and shoot exactly there. I didn't particularly like turning off all of the nannies to get to the full-on aggressive mode, but that was the only way to make it happen. The CT4 BW seems to provide 95% of the handling with 120% of the comfort lol. Anyway, I think we both made the right call & welcome!

Welcome and congrats on the CT 4 V BW 2tirefire. How long have you had the Caddy and did you get MT? What caused you to switch? Was the QF a lease?
Again, as you get more experience with the BW I'd like to hear more comparisons. I'm a big fan of the Alpha (and of the BW too) and if the Alpha was MT its possible I'd be driving one instead of the BW...though ultimately I think the Caddy is the better car for us all around.

Many thanks, 'Hawk. I don't want to hijack Ringo's (lol) thread, but neither do I want to fail to address your Q... and besides, another thing I don't miss about the QV hit me, so I'll attempt to kick it right down the middle, relevant to his original post.
I've had my CT4 BW for a full 9 days now; clearly, this makes me quite the veteran around here lol. This is my third Caddy, the first being an 01 Eldo and the most recent was a 14 CTS-vSport, which I got out of to get into the QV back in 19. I'm still in the engine break-in period, so I haven't yet opened it up; otoh, it had 68 miles on the odometer when I got it, so it's reasonable to assume other folks drove it a little rougher than recommended.
I'll do up a sig block or drop my own post to the new member's thread with any other cool cars, but until then, I'm coming from a 22 Audi RS5... which I liked very much, but is a completely different type of car.
I filled up the BW for the first time today and remembered another thing I didn't like about the QV: when you're getting gas, you can't listen to music; if the car is in ACC mode when you open the tank, it sets off a fuel tank vapor lock CEL. Sure, that's minor... but it's also quite the pita oversight too lol. A lot of Offspring songs died at gas stations. Like griffmac, I tired of driving to the nearest authorized dealership for service & warranty work. Once the local dealer closed, I drove 6 hours once and 8 hours on my final visit (which was a 20k service, requiring a timing belt change at that interval!
). Was a great, unique car... just not worth the hassle for routine maintenance. Yanno?

Shame that....niggling issues. I loved and truly miss my old Audi S4 Avant but it was a constant hassle with various issues. I like all the Audi RS cars...but again not MT and they are so porky these days (like all new cars). My Audi was MT and compared to even the later S4s was relatively light and tossable. Still the BW checks most of those boxes and I'm very happy with it. Look forward to hearing more from your experience and I know your going to like it.

Sorry for the bump, but also a Giulia Quad owner and was considering the switch. I have an FL5 as my DD, so I do have a manual in the stable, but I have always been intrigued by the CT4V BW. I love the QV as there's nothing else like it on the road short of exotics, but curious how the switch has gone for you 6 months or so in now?

Never driven the Giulia but have long admired the car. If it came with MT its possible I might be driving one now. IMO - as great as the CT4VBW (and it is) - unless you absolutely have to have MT (like me) I think its a hard sell to switch as they are really so similar in many ways. But I'm one who keeps my cars....so just me. Curious what prior or current Giulia owners might think.
