Enjoyable and informative review - as usual - Savagegeese are nearly always spot on and don't hold back punches. Of course they love this car...and for track the precision package makes a lot of sense. However I find it hard to justify for the price considering the basic car is so good and already almost too much for the road. But if you plan to track it and have the dough I understand.

And while the supercharged V8 is hard to beat - I still think the CT 4 V BW is plenty enough and in many ways a better car for most (like me). I think this for a whole variety of reasons...but can't disagree that the 5 is a more "special" car with an epic engine....and the precision package certainly makes it even more track worthy. Funny though the lead Caddy engineer stated that the CT 4 V was more of a track car. Then again....so is a Miate IMO....

And yet, no Precision Package for the 4BW. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My guess would be that there's a lot more room in the price range of the 5 to develop the package. I think the 4 likely hit a ceiling where it would be cross-shopped with the base 5 and M3, etc. In other words, the 5 has a lot more room to option up bc it'll be compared to the likes of the M5/E63.

The 4 as an overall platform clearly received $0 from GM for a mid-cycle refresh, hence no changes like the 5 received. (ie. updated infotainment, new front clip, etc)

In any case, the PP was designed to make the 5 feel like a smaller car. Based on comparisons I've seen of the 5v4, the 4 already achieves this on the track and has been called the better track car by multiple review outlets due to its smaller size/weight and ability to navigate the twisties.

Perhaps unnecessary...CCB overkill and expensive,,,would push price up quite a bit. I love the V6 TT for the car but perhaps a V8 special edition package could be a nice option (and a money maker for GM)...and of course a wagon version for us wagon enthusiasts...

It's interesting the part of their discussion starting about 17:05 where the passenger (Mark) starts describing the rear suspension "walking" over undulations in a straight line - several of us have discussed this sensation in other threads with our basic 5BWs and I was hoping the PP would cure it but maybe not. To some of us, it feels like soft/overly compliant suspension bushings but others have speculated that it's the way the e-diff is doling out the power to the individual rear wheels. If the PP does it, too, even with it's stiffer rear suspension bushings, then that lends credence to the belief that it is e-diff weirdness.

Tail happy car wagging its tail. I have noticed the walking or wagging at speed on straights full throttle gets more noticeable as the tires wear. Savagegeese likely have new tires being reviewed and the walk/wag is more tame w/ new tires.

I guess that's when I know new tires are needed - when my straightaway racing line starts swaying +/- 4 feet. :ROFLMAO:

Peers hard tracking their CT4-V Blackwings have noticed similar but more nuanced.

Willing to wager that just putting on Cup2R tires on the 4BW would be a game changer in performance.

I imagine that it would....though I never felt the need for more grip when I was at Spring Mountain....then again short track and perhaps I wasn't driving fast enough. I do regret not carrying more speed through some of the curves (following their braking recommendations vs letting it fly more like I do naturally....lol)

It would be interesting to see a CT 4 V BW lighting lap and such with Cup 2s or Trofeos like the Audi RS3 and see how much difference it would make.

Shit! Didn't notice Roadhawk and Todds previous post! Sorry about the reboot! :ROFLMAO:
