That's harsh. I think people would just call you a poseur. My biggest gripe against all of this was that the GM threshold for braking and acceleration were based on the performance of a 4-cylinder Malibu, not a Blackwing. For example, whereas On-Star might flag me for an aggressive throttle application, you guys would just call me a pussy.
Haha to both of you guys! That's harsh. I think people would just call you a poseur.
I have tried to do this in the app and I cannot find anything that says Smart driver. I did find something to say I had to turn on my vehicles location tracking to be able to do something. Maybe that's telling me that I basically already have it turned off?AI says:
- Log into your vehicle’s smartphone app: Use the myChevrolet, myGMC, myBuick, or myCadillac app, or access the OnStar website.
- Access your account settings: Click on your name at the top right of the app or website, then select “Settings” (app) or “Account” (website).
- Find OnStar Smart Driver settings: In the app, navigate to “OnStar Smart Driver” (or “Data & Privacy” > “OnStar Smart Driver” on the website).
- Toggle off or opt-out: Switch the “Allow OnStar Smart Driver” button to off (app) or select “opt-out” for each vehicle associated with your OnStar account (website).
I'm still searching for my lost goat at the rodeo, so I can only provide what comes up on the interwebs. I would think you might be able to see something if you logged on to your Onstar account in a web browser?I have tried to do this in the app and I cannot find anything that says Smart driver. I did find something to say I had to turn on my vehicles location tracking to be able to do something. Maybe that's telling me that I basically already have it turned off?
Unfortunately I don't think that works completely.Haha to both of you guys!
When this data sharing was revealed, I went ahead and physically disconnected the plug in the trunk as other people had figured out. I wouldn't mind plugging it back in but only if I know 100% they aren't sharing/selling my data again.
Zoiks! Geez I guess maybe there is no way to get around all the systems reporting things.Unfortunately I don't think that works completely.
I unplugged the purple antenna plug back in April myself and then canceled my onstar essentials plan shortly after. (Still have the free 6 year thing)
Recently in Oct while at the drag strip, I aired down my tires to see if it would help.
A little while later I got an email/ text message from onstar saying my tires were low.
So yea.... they still know.
How in any way is this a liberal thing? Just curious I'm pretty sure it's a way for insurance companies to charge you more money, which sounds more of a "conservative" idea. Liberals are probably trying to come up with a way for insurance to be free. I feel like there's so many (uneducated) people online that find something they don't like and they just label it "liberal".Data sharing has just begun! Rat brain liberals....what did you think the outcome would be with all this "Tech"...lol
Talk about misdirected anger. I hope you find some happiness in your life because at this point I’m not sure there is much.Data sharing has just begun! Rat brain liberals....what did you think the outcome would be with all this "Tech"...lol
Dem da facts....Please dispute it otherwise? As for the anger? No, not really pretty calm and pragmatic it's the hypocrisy that's annoying in society.Talk about misdirected anger. I hope you find some happiness in your life because at this point I’m not sure there is much.
If you think a major capitalist corporation is filled with “rat brain liberals” sharing data with insurance companies to make more money you are a seriously deranged idiot. Just having to type that sentence is embarrassing.Dem da facts....Please dispute it otherwise? As for the anger? No, not really pretty calm and pragmatic it's the hypocrisy that's annoying in society.
