At the mirror you are able to get a ground, accessory hot and always hot connections?

Your mount and design built?Thought I'd share my install now that I'm done tweaking it. I tapped into the same circuit as @A-A-RON , but cut and resoldered it together with a breakout on the mirror side of the connector. That went to a separate connector so I could wire in my radar detector, and dash cam.
The mount is my design and 3d printed:
Thanks! Uniden R7. The cord routes up to the mirror wiring, similar to how A-A-RON did in the original post. That Sir, is a clean install. My nickel. Uniden???### Where does the other end of the R J
Your mount and design built?
Thanks, yes, designed it in CAD and then 3d printed it.Nice instal did you say you designed and made the mount? Or did I fumble?
I'm not sure, I only used the wires shown in the original post, which is ground and ignition on hot.At the mirror you are able to get a ground, accessory hot and always hot connections?
My first mod on Pegasus! Thanks so much for the instructions! As I have done for my last several vehicles, I hardwired my UNIDEN R7 into my BW. Pulling the plastic cover off of the mirror was the actually the harder part. Wiretap BLACK to BLACK and WHITE PIN, Wiretap RED to PURPLE and GRAY PIN. Here are some pics for you. This install has been the same for me on my GM vehicles. The Radar detector only receives power when the vehicle is ON, not ACCESSORY , or OFF.
As a former LEO I can concur this statement.... ^^^TRUTH^^^This is just my opinion. I believe that RADAR detectors are pretty much useless in this day and age. If you get pulled over by a cop who used RADAR......he probably was riding a horse. Todays technology that I have used for 18 years , was LIDAR. You can detect the laser....but its only telling you that you have already been caught ! The LIDAR shoots a beam of light (186,000 miles /per/second) at the pull of a trigger. LIDAR detectors are illegal. If I was looking down a highway (a mile away) I would have your speed and the two guys next to you in a third of a second. The RADAR detectors would always go off whenever I passed a supermarket with the automated doors. Too many false readings. I haven't seen a department using RADAR in years. Maybe the tiny departments who can't afford LIDAR guns are still using them.
In 1990 when I became an officer we used the old radar systems and I would not turn it on until I put eyes on you.....I would say the detectors work about half the time......A radar detector is useful on the highway to alert me that a highway patrol may be off on the shoulder or there may be an accident.
Lidar guns are most commonly used in the city at close range. - I've never once come across one on the highway. I have a Stinger laser jammer system in my Blackwing. These really do work as I had one for many years in my S4 and saved my ass at least 3 times.

The way I understand it is that the gun just needs to be powered up and the oscillator will be running. The detector can pick up these weak signals. It’s possible newer guns do a better job at shielding the oscillator emissions. In Arizona I come across a highway patrol out of the vehicle, and for example helping someone, and no way he’s using the gun, but I pick him up a mile away.In 1990 when I became an officer we used the old radar systems and I would not turn it on until I put eyes on you.....I would say the detectors work about half the time......

In my day a lot of officers would leave it turned on all the time but I never did that...I never liked doing rolling radar so I only used it when I was stationary and there was a need to do it because of complaints of people speeding... I hated running traffic stops so I did as little as possible.... I worked for a small affluent city so a lot of our calls were the neighbors dog is barking, or someone door blew open from wind and the alarm went off... Stupid stuff most of the time.......The way I understand it is that the gun just needs to be powered up and the oscillator will be running. The detector can pick up these weak signals. Import work to the folks and community you served. Something to be said about that.In my day a lot of officers would leave it turned on all the time but I never did that...I never liked doing rolling radar so I only used it when I was stationary and there was a need to do it because of complaints of people speeding... I guess all of the KA band detections my radar detector warns about all around the small city of Houston and I receive from Texas Highway Patrol on major highways around Houston must be false then. This is just my opinion.
