CT4-V Frustration with build quality

Cadillac CT4-V model
This 100%. While I've been waiting I've tried to look at dealer inventory and it's just depressing what they think people want to buy. There's so many good color combos but apparently American's just want black, white, or grey with a boring all black interior. I guess if you swap out cars every other year it isn't as big of a deal, but I plan to drive mine until the wheels fall off.

So, many years ago I had this absolutely gorgeous Porsche Panamera S (other than being a Panamera). I got a lot of compliments on it, perhaps more than any other car I've ever owned, including 911s, Corvettes and yes, even the Cadillac.

It had sat at the dealer for almost a year. I asked the salesman about it later, and he said, "people come in here, and they are just flabbergasted over the car. 'That's just beautiful', they say, 'can I get one just like it, in black?' ".

Always wanted to try one of those and the Panamera Turbo S is an utter beast of a car. Not many of those around.

Thought I'd give everyone an update: Got my car back today, 13 weeks since they received it in the shop. It's mechanically in great shape, and the transmission shifts like it's supposed to, finally. Unfortunately, they managed to scratch the back bumper in the meantime (they did promise to fix that, but more shop time for it to occur).

Cadillac corporate has been less than helpful through this process, as they refused to commit to anything until the repairs were complete. Today, they started negotiating. At this point in my heart I know that they will be buying it back, even if I have to retain a lawyer to make it happen. What I don't know is if I'm willing to order another one to replace it. This whole experience has reaffirmed all my preexisting dislike of GM as a company. I took a big chance on this car knowing how awesome it was to drive. Unfortunately, it seems GM will always do GM things.

I'm still debating if I want to replace the throttle body myself to fix the chirp on throttle tip in. Was yours fixed by turbo replacement alone or TB replacement as well?

Turbo replacement alone. Apparently the sound was within the wastegate.

Today Cadillac offered me 75,000 ($750) in GM reward points for my trouble. Refused to work with me towards buyback/replacement, or at least a reasonable compensation for the 105 days my vehicle was in the shop. So now I have to get a lawyer involved. 🤬

That's a crap offer

I thought you didn't want to do the buyback? If the car is now operating properly, why would you want to go through that hassle, especially if the car is optioned how you want it. If something like this happened again, I could see going that route.

I want to be compensated for the lack of use and an extended warranty, at base line. I've made $5,000 in payments while my car was sitting in a dealership shop for a failure at the factory. $750 in points doesn't cut it...

If GM is not going to be reasonable, then they will be forced to buy it back. Not my ideal outcome, but I don't appreciate the way they've handled this either, and I will not just take it lying down. Again, we're talking about a car that only had 6,600 miles when they first agreed there were multiple build issues.

Ok, I'm with you there and that makes perfect sense. I wish you all the best! I'm waiting myself to hear back from customer service., which seems to be taking forever on something very straightforward. My car was somehow delivered with the standard headliner and pillar package, when everything should be suede. We are going on two weeks to acknowledge the mistake, so I can get it corrected, when they told me it would be no more than 3 days. I think Cadillac really needs to step up the game in this area,

Agreed, that's crap. I don't know the lemon laws in CA, but you should learn what they are and proceed from that point. A lawyer is not always necessary. I speak from experience (albeit in a different state).

Best of luck.

That's where mine came from. Almost 6 months waiting and I went to Dallas to pick it up. My Coastal Blue over Tan with Bronze wheels won't be sitting on a lot anywhere, so it will be back to the long wait again.
I ordered my CT4 with Dustin at Sewell Dallas in Nov '24 and it arrived first week of Feb. Less than 4 months with the allocation he had available. Personally would go the buy back route if offered.
