CT4 BW to Dark Horse?

I don't find the dark horse too appealing from a cost perspective and I hate that giant screen, so I am looking at used mach 1's. If the right one pops up I might switch.

Btw- The camaros are getting to be a pain to insure, I was playing around with insurance quotes on a 22 ZL1 and it turned out to be 600$ more than the blackwing over a 6 month period.

I'm working a couple lightly used ones that are certified and come with a 7yr/100k powertrain for $10k or so off MSRP. If I could be in a position where it's an even trade it becomes more appealing. Otherwise agree I can't justify the cost of it new even with the big discounts.

Good call on the ZL1 insurance, hadn't checked that. Apparently the dark horse is a separate model and seems to insure cheaper at least right now. I'm seeing maybe a $100 delta or so over the 6 months

Wait, this is for the dark horse? 10K off MSRP would get me in a dark horse too :P
Sometimes I hate living in CA- we never see these kind of deals.

If you still have to assist the kiddos into/out of their seats, I think the 2-door should wait a while. You'll be switching back to 4 doors after just a few trips. :)

LOL yeah aiming for $58k on a vehicle with $66k MSRP. 4k miles, certified pre-owned. Not quite there yet though- down to 60k, originally listed for 63k

I have bought numerous cars (including the BW) from out of state. For example, around here most dealers simply don't have a BW in stock, and if they do, it's $15K+ over MSRP. I bought mine out of Michigan for MSRP. The $900 extra in shipping costs is still cheaper than $15K.

I bought my last new BMW out of Toledo Ohio, a $240 plane trip and a 800 mile trip home later, I saved several thousand dollars from buying local. Where I am here in the RTP area of NC, dealers just ask you to bend over. Cars are just a commodity, a BW is a BW is a BW, regardless of where it comes from, they're all made in the same place. Think outside the box, outside the state.

When I was Mustang shopping years ago, there was a dealer in VA (Koons) that was selling in-stock cars for slightly more than invoice. If ordering one, I found a dealer in PA that would do even better than that. It's well worth the hassle to do it remotely.

most people, i am especially guilty of this, are too lazy to travel and use the excuse that they want to see it in person and limit themselves to local geography

As have I and its always been a great experience. Additionally. of all the cars I've ever purchased the BW is the first car I paid MSRP for. I'm a very hard bargainer. I've also negotiated for family and friends a few times (all with good results).

The first car I bought out of state was a 1989 Supercharged MR2. I wanted a very specific color & spec and I was tracking deliveries to dealers from Japan. When it was clear that the local dealer was never going to deliver the car I ordered and bought from them as they realized that weren't going to make any $$$ from it - I found one being delivered to a dealer in New Jersey and they agreed to sell me the car for just $100 more then I had previously bargained for. We drove back from the dealer on back roads and it was a really enjoyable introduction to the car.

In every case I drove the cars I bought out of state home - including the BW that I bought in Atlanta and drove back up to the DC area. Its always been worth it and its always worked out great IMO.

Intoxicating...........is revving a GT350 to it's 8,250 rpm redline. The sound track is glorious. If you're going to look, look at 2019-20 models. I sold mine in January of this year for more than what it stickered for.

Any pics of your car you wouldn't mind sharing? I ordered a White CT5 BW with the black mirror caps and the same interior!

Here's the professional photo shoot of my car, done by the company that did the PPF and ceramic coatings.

I've since had the windows tinted.

Sorry y'all, finalized a deal on a new '24 dark horse. Only option was the dark matter gray paint, and I was able to get 3500 off MSRP to take it down to ~$59k. Like the BWs you get a track event on a new DH so that was an added bonus. Shipping up to me next week

Can't shake the V8 bug so had to make the switch. Hopefully I'll be back around someday in a CT5 BW unless for some odd reason I keep the DH forever, but obviously wouldn't bet on that :)

congrats!

And please tell us what you think?
They're both phenomenal vehicles. I needed something that could haul more humans, and made myself a deal if the "perfect" Blackwing showed up, if make the jump.

I had a bunch of mods done to the Mach 1 as I figured it was gonna be a long term thing for me (IRS brace, wheels/tires, jacking rails, MGW shifter, PPF, Diode Dynamics lights, FRPP Quad Racing Exhaust w/ QTEC Boss 302 electric cutouts, etc...) and it was a beast all its own in its own right. Beautiful to look at, wonderful to drive, never see em around.

The Blackwing is completely different. It's quite a bit more polished, more comfortable on longer trips, and for me, I'm not treating it like a baby. It's been in the rain. It's been driven at night. I took it on a 2000+ mile road trip before I got PPF on it (still no PPF yet! 🥵)

The 5BW is just a bonkers ride, and so glad Cadillac is the one standing up for us enthusiasts who need the ability to haul things as well as people, all the while still able to have fun and enjoy things.

I'd set the gauge cluster to "Fox Body" and never change it.

Looking forward for a complete review!
