V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2024 ct5v blackwing
i am looking for the best exhaust set up without tuning the car. i want to keep my factory warranty. my car is a 2024 and has the global b ecu. can i put headers and the car will learn and self adjust like the c8 corvette?

I guess it depends on what you want from the exhaust. If you want to go full savage, go Corsa.

Any update on this question...can you put on Kooks headers with green cats and not get a check engine light and no need for a tune?
From what I have seen from couple reputable shops I occasionally watch, Yes. I will be doing just that in the next month or so when my shop slots me in. Ill let you know my experience for sure once it is done.

You can go uncatted if you want and the car will self adjust tune wise. You’ll get a CEL for the lack of cars but the car will run normal. Some even swears they cleared the code a few times and then it just stopped coming on.

Was/am very curious about this as well.

Here's my write-up:

Local shops can simply replace the muffler, or remove altogether for a tiny fraction of what a packaged "cat-back" system costs.

Sound is better too.

Having said that, I will get the Kooks headers as well since I want it to be frighteningly loud - not normal I know.

i cant see how most dealerships will fix a repair remotely related to the engine/exhaust under warranty if they see aftermarket headers installed on the car. the burden of proof the modification caused the defect is on them but that wouldnt be difficult to argue i would think

March 8th I drop the car off for Kooks headers, green cats, and having SC ported by Kong. It will be bench dynoed before and after to see exactly how the factory tune reacts. No tuning is being planned as I want to avoid it. My shop will have it for week and half or so as I will be out of town to give them plenty of time to run it and see how it behaves.
Ill update again when Im back and pick it up later in March.

I plan on getting my 5BW dynoed this spring. What parameters does the car need to be in for the best dyno results. The car is completely stock and I was just wondering what modes the car needs to be in and if anything needs to be turned off.
I am also guessing that a dyno shop "should" know what needs to be done.
***10 spd automatic xmsn.

My local dealership basically said "cat back? no problem. Headers will complicate things" when I took my V3 in years ago. Take that for what its worth. They also thought I had a tune on that car (I didn't). Although they were funny about that, I actually talked to the tech and he asked me point blank if I did because he didn't want to void my warranty if he scanned it.

You make a great point. I've made it a priority to meet a couple of the techs over time. Knowing I was planning to take a car in for work, it made me feel a little better getting to know them. One actually turned out to become a good buddy. Ironically he already knew me from another good buddy that was his neighbor. Eventually he moved dealerships and so did I, with him. Now we regularly trade barbs over who's car is faster. He's a fox body/turbo nut that has worked for GM since high school.

I’ve been told the same by different brands as well. Still have always wanted to go the Kooks route though!

Very interested in the update when you get the car back!

Extremely interested in your findings as well.

So I have the car back. TLDR All Good.

The car was baselined on the shops mustang dyno at 595 rwp (SAE). If you want to see and have facebook you can look up Late Model Domestics (Va Beach) and check out their vids. They have before and after video on the dyno. All work completed and dyno numbers where 642 rwp (SAE).

Went with Kooks 1 7/8 headers, green cats, Kong ported stock SC, new plugs/wires.. NO TUNE. Been driving for few days. Factory tune accommodated all mods with ease. Shop told me from their data car would readily accept more airflow. So adding something like JLT airbox and NW 103 TB and the car factory tune should continue to adapt. Might be on my Christmas list to Santa.

Bit more pep in her step. Nothing outrageous but noticeable. Louder at start up and WOT. But not super different when just cruising. ( Note: I like the louder sound and even clipped my rear ANC mike so my after market sub/amp would work as intended. Which resulted in slightly more of the exhaust tone being heard in the cabin. Again im good with that, some are not. )
