Took the car out to run some errands, noticed the infotainment wasn't picking up my phone when I was leaving my 3rd destination. Everything was working fine for the last two stops.

My phone says its still paired to the car but the car says it doesn't see any phones and wants me to pair again.

I restarted the car to see if the system needed a reboot to connect to my phone and the infotainment screen didn't boot up, just completely black screen, power button didn't work. I drove it 15min to my next destination and the screen never turned on the entire time.

Turned off the car when I got where I was going, left it off for a few minutes, restarted the car and the infotainment booted back up.

Before anyone asks, yes my car is on the GM battery tender, I always put the tender on my cars because I know the electronics act weird if the car isn't daily driven to charge the battery. Everytime I get home my cars go on the tender even if I'm driving them the next day.

Anyone else had an issue with their infotainment not booting up?

I haven’t had this happen to my 22’ 5BW yet, but on my other 22’ GM vehicle it does happen on occasion. Similar infotainment systems between both cars.
If I wait for a bit, it will come back with next restart. That vehicle is driven almost daily for 40 to 50 miles, so if in a hurry, sucks without everything working.

This happened to me yesterday. I had not driven the car in over a week and it has been extremely cold (teens). The car is garage kept. It ran and drove fine but the infotainment screen was black and none of the buttons were illuminated for things like heat, heated steering wheel and heated seats, though all were on and working fine. Rearview camera worked fine along with music but had to see the music through the dash display.

Not unusual after an OTA software update in my experience. The other variant is where only the HUD is missing but shows up either by moving the display higher or restarting the car.

I don't recall the exact key sequence (I believe you hold down the start button with the engine off for more than 10 seconds to force a car reboot) but when I was researching the infotainment system in modern GM vehicles (I work in IT) there is a way to do a hard reboot of the system when this happens. A link to some of the tinkering others have done (not Cadillac specific).

Once I get some time with my '25 BW I'll share more info.

Had this happen on my wife’s 2019 Blazer. Blank infotainment screen and no phones paired. Left the driver’s side door open for 20 minutes which basically does the same thing as disconnecting the battery. It resets all the car’s electronics. Everything came back to normal operation afterwards.

I think it has happened on every car I own from GM at some point, except the BW so far. 2018 Camaro 2SS and 2021 Silverado 2500.
I wrote it off as electronic gremlins as it just fired up no issue with next start when it happened.

Ive had this happen to me once or twice. But usually after restarting the car, everything goes back to normal.

What bugs me more when it happens is when my window suddenly doesnt wanna go up. One will randomly doesnt wanna go up but will go down. I thought maybe it was just my driver side since I mess with it often, but had it happen on other windows too. After a few minutes, what ever cause the issue will just self clear. I chalk it one of those weird electrical gremlins on the car.

Ha! You want electrical gremlins and infotainment not working right, buy a BMW.

This has only happened to me once, but it really bugged me too.

The window issue has happened to me 3-4 times. scares the shit out of me....ACK my window wont go up.....so I put the window all the way down, and it seems to, as others have said, eventually work after a few seconds of terrifying behavior.

Whoa. Seriously? I didn’t know that.

Oh shit I feel so seen about the window thing! I thought I was the only one.

Have not experienced the Infotainment system not booting up. However, have had plenty of times when my phone would not connect with Android Auto to the car.

Best part is it almost seems to happen when it starts raining in my situation. 🤣
