2023 Brake Upgrades?

The other threads will explain in detail but the summary is that the BW has small cutouts for a sacrificial brake pad wear sensor that these pads don't. But the sensor is easily removed or zip tied back to the brake line.

Just ordered both of these sets,

The rear pads do not fit same as OEM. The OEM pads are about 0.3" taller than these pads.

After some digging, it seems like the CT4 BW uses the ZL1 rear caliper. Rockauto's preview on the rear ZL1 pads looks identical to ours.

I ordered the power stop replacement which is the 1053 pad model #

Will update in a few days to slap them on.

let me know how they perform. i dont think i've ever experienced pads that dust as much as the 4bw. my bronze wheels within first few hundred miles look near black already lol

Drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads might bring aesthetics that allude to performance and it might reduce dust, but it won't be a performance improvement and won't eliminate dust. GM worked closely with Brembo to create this brake package so short of a full race setup, you're going backwards with aftermarket changes. As others have noted, a ceramic coating will help reduce dust buildup without degrading performance.
you have a link for a set of ceramics? I bought cheap pads for daily and got a set of new oems in the trunk., my originals got pretty worn about 70-80 % pads used 1 track day 4 sessions, but the performance was very impressive for oem pads, we use hawks and g-locs in our race cars. now looking for daily pads low or no dust lol no focus on performance for this set, any idea shoot them this way and thank you in advance

I haven't tried them on my 5BW, but I've had good luck with Akebono pads in the past. Lot less brake dust BUT your emergency stopping distance is going to increase anytime you go with a harder (less porous) pad in my experience.

Just wanted to share with everyone. The 1718 rear pads DO NOT fit these cars.

The correct pad is the 1053, same pad on the ZL1. I ordered these and can confirm are a direct fit.

So on my V3 I ran this, and they worked very well with the noise and dust free, the stock on the V3's seem to be louder and a lot more dustier.
the downside of this is that they started creating hot stops on the rotors.
and eventually had to get new rotors.

I was wondering is anyone is running this on the CT5 BW ?
hows the dust compared to Stock ?
any noise?
any hot spots on rotors?

thanks

So to confirm, 1053 for the rear, 1718 for the front (but have to tie off the electronic sensor wire)?

Just broke in the Z26 Powerstop pads. No notable difference on the street between these and the OEM Brembos pads.

Given how these are $140 for both front and rear and they dust a crap ton less, I consider these a solid deal.

For track days I may opt for the PowerStop Track version of these pads and see how they fare.

Overall I'm happy with these. 10/10 would recommend.

That's literally a picture of the boxes for the pads that are on my car right now.

Not sure what went wrong with your install, but they 100% fit.

They fit technically, but the pad does not cover the whole face of the rotor that was previously covered by the OEM pad. I should have taken a photo of them side by side before I returned them.

Can you post a photo of your rear rotor? I'd image there's a ring just outside the hub that isn't being touched by the pad.

I can say with 110% confidence that the 1053 is the correct pad. I installed them on my car and they fit and cover all the friction surface of the rear rotor.
