Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Thanks for the photos! I'm deciding between Weathertech and the Cadillac all weather mats. I can get the Cadillac ones for a lot cheaper if I use all my Cadillac Rewards points.
That’s what I did. Used the Cadillac rewards. I ended up paying like $125 (I think)

I think the Caddy AW mats are nice. I actually leave them in all the time. My V logo carpet mats are still in the wrapper. :)

Well, that helped my decision. Just purchased the Cadillac all weather mats, with rewards points and 10% off promo for Sept, was able to get the mats for $45. :D

I saw this the other day. Why would someone do that?

Added the 'bottle caps' to my wheels. Still undecided on the look, but mainly the color. Would be nice if they matched my caliper paint.
Ooooof... I was really hoping to see some more pictures of these to see if I would spring for a set, but I'm glad I held out. Not for me.

Thanks for sharing!

Had my 5BW at the detailer for its 1 year ceramic coating going over and complete detail. Replaced the grill header PPF due to some stone chips (PPF definitely saved the paint) and added carbon fiber wrap to the radio plastic. It compliments the carbon fiber dash and door nicely. Dealership should have my factory rubber trunk mat by tomorrow. Using my GM reward pts plus a 20% off accessory discount.

I can finally participate in this thread! Picked mine up from the dealer today less than three months from placing my order. Honestly I cannot recommend King O'Rourke in Smithtown NY enough. My salesman Howie was great to work with and the finance guy was the least pushy one I've ever encountered. The car was sold at MSRP and the only thing Howie did was "suggest I think about" the tire and wheel package. Zero required dealer add ons.

Initial impressions from my 50 or so mile drive home, most of which was being stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the Cross Bronx:

  • Interior wise I don't have many complaints. I've heard it's a real step down from the German competitors, but coming from a C63S I'm not sure that's the case. All the touch points seem to be on par with what I had before. My only real nitpicks would be the screen's bezels are a bit big and I'm not sure the black levels on the screen are too good. It does seem a bit washed out compared to the one in the C63S, but that's not a huge deal. The camera rear view mirror is also very weird to use. My eyes keep focusing further into the distance like it's normal mirror. For now that feature will stay off. You can't really feel the ventilated seats, but they must work because after 2.5 hours when it was almost 100 degrees my back was still dry when I got home.
  • Transmission feels very good. I haven't driven a modern manual since my 2015 S4 I sold a few years ago, but shifting this is so much more satisfying. My only critique would be the engagement point on the clutch seems to be a bit vague, I remember it being a little more defined on the S4. But once my left leg gets used to it muscle memory will solve that problem. Overall the clutch feels very good, I wouldn't mind it being a bit heavier to be honest, but this is by far the best manual I've ever driven.
  • Didn't get to much opportunity to see what the engine can do, especially within the break in period, but the few times I did hear it roar I couldn't stop smiling.
I'm not going to do too much driving until I can get it to the detailer for some PPF and ceramic, but after that it's going to be a race to get it broken in. So far I'm very satisfied and can't wait to really see what this thing can do.

I had that problem, but after a week or two of using it, it just sort of "clicked" in my brain and it wasn't a problem at all after. It's funny, I got back from driving a rental car for a week on vacation and in the first couple glances at the camera mirror I got that same feeling again, but afterwards my eyes adjusted again.

I usually only use the rear view camera when driving at night. It seems to have a better view than in regular mirror mode.
*****How do make a post and not show us any photos of your new car !

Well I picked it up in a hurry last night and then had to immediately leave on a business trip. A lot of the shipping wrap and interior plastic is still on the car anyway, I'm holding off on photos until I get it detailed and ceramic coated.

Had my first "oh shit this car is going to get me arrested" moment last night. Trying to take it out at night when the roads are less busy until I can get it into the detailer to avoid any bad rock chips, so I had some open roads last night. Got to 80 on a road with a much lower speed limit an instant even with being RPM limited. It was the first time my wife was in the car and when I told her the RPMs were limited for another 400 miles she said "oh god this thing gets even faster?" and then gave me a lecture about how she doesn't want to be a widow at 30 so I better be careful.

If you are referring to the tach redline, it's not a limiter-just a suggestion. Plus, remember that engine break-in is 1500 miles - not 500 when the tach display redline changes.

I'm coming up on 3500 miles and I'm trying not to go on useless drives to the store. I bought my Kia Telluride in Oct.22' and a few months later drove it from NY to San Diego and back. I don't know if I want to take my 5BW on any lengthy drives.
