V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2022 CTS-V Blackwing
After all DRAMA, The CT5-V Blackwing and all six of its gears is home.

CT5-V Blackwing Intro-28.jpg

Acquiring this car was a fiasco. Admittedly I had not been following it much until my buddy Alex (thanks bro) told me he was not going to end up buying the one he ordered. I have never owned a GM product but was always intrigued by the older V's. Did a little research on this one and decided what the hell.

Papa Smurf here was built back in November and sat around GM for months. The lack of communication from GM and virtually impossible tracking was incredibly frustrating. My contact Ji at Portland Cadillac was great to work with though and kept me apprised. Even he was in shock to hear the car was arriving after months of waiting.

I have owned some other fast cars and this one does not disappoint. Driving experience is great, but the car still needs a little aggression for my tastes. However, I do acknowledge Cadillac is building a luxury sports sedan. I’ve got some plans in the works to develop the carbon package front splitter, rear spoiler and wickers. As well as having some fun designing wheel fitments. I will be 3D scanning a bunch of the car this weekend. More on this later....

I commend Cadillac for making a luxury sports car that is totally livable. Maybe you all can help me make some bad (good) decisions. I appreciate all the information I have learned from many of your already and look forward to being part of the community for a few. I planned to have more time with this car to develop parts, but with other cars coming I will have to enjoy the Blackwing while I can before letting it go.

Awesome, congrats! Hopefully once you get past the break-in and have full power, you'll find it was worth the acquisition aggravation.
Definitely looking forward to that experience. I am assuming its 500 miles?

Ordered mine in February 2021 (yup - more than a year ago!) and still sitting at 1000. Chat with GM monthly and while they acknowledge the order and all is fine, nothing is happening. I ordered with both CF packages and I know that is currently a constraint. I just wonder when the order will be moved forward to a 2023 production year

search the forum - Rob posted the 2023 dates and what happens. Net is it does not rollover once the 2022 order books close (early May) and your dealer has to resubmit the order. Search production updates from Rob

Time to get down to business. With the car in the shop I took some of my display wheels and got them positioned to visualize wheel designs and colors.
.
Anything stand out? These are just a few of our Signature Wheels that I had on hand.

Hmmm....wondering about the 4th wheel (gold) on a black BW. Not sure if it's great or a bit too gold??

what are the actual size of those wheels? Are you putting the actual wheels in front of the wheels on the car sitting on a car dollie? (thats what it looks like to me) and/or is that photoshop?

If not, would suggest doing some photoshop for the visual work instead. tough to comment based on the photos with no rubber although I would like to see the sixth from the top IRL.
He is putting wheels on dollies in front of OEM wheel. They all look like 19” to me.

I think the limiting factor in front is going to be the inside fender. Not a lot of room even for the 275 PS4S.

Interior on the Blackwing is pretty well sorted. Great compliment of leather and carbon. It feels solid with no rattles as of yet. Alcantara covered back seats are dope, but definitely be sure your kids take their shoes off before climbing in the back.
.
It’s not Porsche level good, as the leather is very impressionable, but requisite with the amount of money the car costs. A welcome step up from my 2020 GT500. Wish Ford offered a sports car with nicer interior.
.
Enjoy these detail shots.

That Sahara Brushed sand really changes depending on the lighting. This light blue is quite unique, so I will play around a bit to see what works

These are all 19/20 wheels. The angles make them look big. Photoshop is great, but still only gets you so far. Looking forward to doing some builds to see how they look

Like I said in FB, I'm a sucker for those 5 spokes. How much lip do those thing have? Guess just needs to see if those faces would clear the BBKs when you get back from your trip.

Lip on the Blackwing will be moderate in size. A little over 1”. They will clear the BBK though. No issues there. GM is very good at recycling parts from existing cars

Almost all of those wheels are too loud for me but you're clearly going for a look. I'd go with #2 with a different lip color or the 2nd to last possibly

Low key is definitely an option too. But this car will rarely roll in silence

@CT5VBW That is exactly the photoshop I was hoping for. Love the look of those wheels and definitely would be interested in a set for my 4BW.

He did a good job with it
