LOL, I was just looking at opinions about Tan seats (again) as I am debating the idea of ordering MY26. Always love the cool gray but after owning it multiple times, looking for something different.@ajamils ..Good Lord, this is an old thread. So old it should have died. I never got that car. Ordered it with CF1 and CF2 and with carbon seats. All the carbon killed the order. I should have dropped CF1 and CF2, but was too bull headed. The order was cancelled at the end of 2022MY. Of all Ironies, I found a preowned 22 5BW with 700 miles on it, almost exactly like my order, without CF1 and CF2, but with black Carbon seats. Bought it, over paid for it, never looked back. LOVE it.
I'll share my opinion if you like. I have now owned 2 manual 5s with full SA carbon seats. My 22 Rift Metallic had the black leather, and my 24 BDT has the tan. Do I like one more than the other? No, but I definitely like my tan as much as all black, and feel it definitely gives the cabin a fresher and more upscale appearance. I am not sure what exterior color you are going for, but maybe that should be a deciding factor. On my Rift, all black was perfect. On the BDT, I love the tan.LOL, I was just looking at opinions about Tan seats (again) as I am debating the idea of ordering MY26. Having not seen the tan seats in person, I'm still concerned that they might be too "mustardy".
Thank you for the reply. It was really helpful.I'll share my opinion if you like. I have now owned 2 manual 5s with full SA carbon seats. On the doors, keep in mind they are always closed when drivingI don't find it offensive at all when they are open to see the strip of tan. They blend perfectly when closed.
If you are going mid level seats, then I think the tan is too much (and I briefly had that option on my 2022 4 Blackwing). Same for Sky Cool grey. The SA seats look, and more importantly, feel, much better.

You seem well on the right check!! I agree with everything you said.Thank you for the reply. It was really helpful.
Right now I'm torn between Typhoon or Coastal Blue. With Typhoon and i would like to get Tan interior (with bronze wheels) and if I go Coastal Blue then cool gray again.
I've owned both 4 and 5 (very shortly) with mid-grade seats (both cool gray) but this time I would like to get the highend ones, as now there is option for CF back delete, so they are cheaper and I don't really care for CF backs.
4 has a lot more tan that I like but at least in this light, it looks quite good.I know that the 4 and 5 are different but here's some pics of my 4 with the tan seats. They pair with coastal blue really nice.
I know I'm biased but when I selected tan interior I was looking for, you know, a tan interior. When you do that on a 5, you still get a black interior but with tan accents. The 4 goes a bit overboard with the color in the seats. I like the more toned down looks of the 5 seats better.
The same 4 seats are the mid level seats in the 5. But as you know, the 5 also offers the top level SA seats, which use the tan or sky cool grey in a much more limited manner. The 4 goes a bit overboard with the color in the seats. I like the more toned down looks of the 5 seats better.
