Sorry, I just now found the other thread about this. Linked post explains with a link to the recall instructions for the dealer.

Doesn't seem like it's that critical to me. Not worth a special trip.

I just received mine as well. I sure wish that it was more specific. I'll probably just wait until the next service is due.

Yup, just got my letter today, schedule appt. for next Friday morning. Hopefully it won't take to long!

Mine is put away for the winter. I'll get to it in the spring when I have the alignment done. Anyone know what it's addressing?

Must be firmware of some kind if they don't want to update OTA.

The update fixes a drained battery issue when performing an OTA update. It affects cars on GM's global B platform, such as C8 Corvettes, Blackwing Cadillacs, and some trucks.

Weird. I got the letter for my C8 but not the 5BW (yet). I had the C8 in for the recall a few weeks ago.

I logged about 220 Colorado miles over yesterday and today. Took it out this morning for church at 7:30am. It was low 30s, but after tracking at Spring Mountain in those temps, I'm not worried about it. We get so many mild winter days. You do need to be careful where you go, as shade covered patches on roads can have ice. I remember last December was 50s - 60s almost every day. Lots of driving opportunities.

As for the recall, mine was fixed at the dealer before I bought it. Hawk02 has it covered above.

None received and dealer confirmed for both of my 2022 GM vehicle's none open. Maybe only certain years are part of the recall?

I was wondering if mine had been done before I picked it up, I'm kind of thinking it must have been. Some minor software differences up here from my 2022 BW.

I'm sure it was. After I agreed to buy mine, they notified me there was one open recall on the car, and it was for this reason.

My dealer updated the firmware when I got my first oil change last month and it took only 2 1/2 hours for the oil change, tire rotation and firmware update. The service adviser said that the firmware update part took about 45 minutes.

I know my dealer wants all recall cars early in the morning, especially for software updates, because they can take hours to do. When I had my parking sensors done, they gave me a rental and told me to come back end of day.

This recall effects most GM vehicles, and the notices don't seem to make sense how they go out. As of the other day, I'm not effected....yet.

Take this for what it’s worth (dealership told me this) it takes 4-5 hours. They had my car all day.
Agreed, Cadillac dealer stated I need to leave the vehicle (CT4-BW) as it will take minimum 4 hours. I asked about a loaner and they declined as not protocol for this service. (That's terrible) The dealer's location is not convenient for me and too far for a shuttle. They mentioned I can take it to any GM dealership for the software update, so I made an an appointment at a local Chevy dealer. The Chevy dealer took the CT4-BW appointment as routine. I conclude these software updates at GM dealers are OK for any GM vehicle. Hopefully the update won't cause other issues!
