R33 GTR as 4BW companion?

:Looks like it could be great fun

I do all the work on the car my self. Built the motor in the garage, and tune it my self. Some parts are a bit of a bitch to find. Rhdjapan and nengun usually have stuff in stock. Oem included.

The jdm prices have came down a bit recently. A good time to buy imo. Spending 45k on a 30 year old car is not stupid if that is their fair value. I got mine almost 4 years ago, and its value has gone up roughly 35-40% from what I paid.

Could someone who has driven both the R3x gtrs and 4BW compare the driving experience and feel? thanks

Is anyone here a fan of 90's Japanese sports cars? I'm approaching 40k miles on my Blackwing which I have been enjoying immensely, but I've have this consistent yearning for an skyline GTR since they became importable. Spending 50-60k on a 30 year old right hand drive sports car is objectively idiotic, but there is such a draw to the character of these old cars. Does anyone else have these kinds of problems? I know a lot of you guys have second weekend cars, is the investment worth it? I plan on continuing to daily drive my Blackwing until the wheels fall off.

Here is one I drove in Japan back in 2019

Big fan. Here’s my ‘93 MR2. It’s my around town car, the Blackwing’s more for highways.
Every now and then I think of selling it and then I drive it and I think there’s no way I’m ever selling this.

It’s faster, roomier, and more interesting than a Miata, which is the closest thing to it on the market today. It even has a trunk big enough for my hockey bag (critical test if you’re a Canuck), which I don’t think is true of the Mazda.

Don't ever sell it. My Gen 1 supercharged MR2 was the most fun car I've ever owned. A neighbor of mine bought it several years ago and its his around town car still. As fun as Miatas are - I've always though the MR2s were better in nearly every way. Yours looks great BTW.

My buddy didn't want to spend 50-60k on one so he bought a GTS-T instead for half as much. Used the extra money to paint it midnight purple 2.

I don't care for 90s japanese cars but my friend likes it. He didn't want to get anything really expensive because he wanted to be a able to drive it and enjoy it without worrying about risk.

I like the idea of a classic car if you have room for one and can do your own work.

I kind of want to import a Commodore SS Ute.

Agree...way better in every way over the Miata especially that model! I luv it!
