I have no intension of tracking my car. Just sold my ZL1 and it had a PDR and I never once used it. Are there any advantages for buying this option for day to day use?

^^^THIS^^^I got the PDR and intend to use it primarily as a dashcam. I see so much dumb stuff on my commute, it's unbelievable.
I use mine in my ZL1 1LE every time that I drive it just because to record in case something happens. With that said, I didn't feel the need to order it on my Blackwing.I have no intension of tracking my car. Just sold my ZL1 and it had a PDR and I never once used it. Huh? I was under the impression that Surround View only records when the car isn't in motion? I'll have to go check...I may have missed a third camera view from my recent track session!I read that if you have Surround View, the 360* Camera will record while driving and it will save onto a SD card.
The recording while driving feature is not exclusive to PDR, but PDR does get you sound.

Have you ever looked at the footage?Yup, no need for PDR to use as a basic dashcam. I've got surround vision, no PDR, threw a FAT32 formatted SD card in the trunk and get surround recordings while driving automatically. It was a very pleasant surprise.
I think the second shot here (the first is from Corvette PDR on track), is representative of the forward looking surround view footage from the CT5.Have you ever looked at the footage?
