Oil Catch Can Installation

What are you up to w/ the catch can? Is there visible oil when you pull the supercharger cover?

I looked into doing this several months ago and found posts where Mirza and co. stated the CT5-V LT4 had an integrated catch can (recirculator really) that works well.

The valleys in my blower did have a small bit of oil in the corners but otherwise very clean. This picture was at about 10k miles.

I’ve looked at a couple catch cans. The Mightymouse requires lifting up the entire blower to access the PCV plug/replace with a new pass through angle fitting, underneath the throttle body area (to the inlet from crankcase)Then I think you modify the intake manifold hose with T fitting for the exit. I didn’t wanna go this route as the bolts for the blower are torque to yield and didn’t feel like replacing all of them.

LMP told me when I called that they route differently and I wouldn’t need to access the PCV but they never sent me the install manual.

I have one in my Suburban 6.2 and its filled half way at each oil change... I didn't know the 5BW had one already, I'll need to research into that.

I haven't purchased this yet, I emailed Steve at Elite with questions and he shared this Tech Info on the 5BW below.

Their can is a little pricey, that said its a dual valve with some extra bits needed to complete the install at $354.00 in late January.

Steve is pretty good about answering questions. Helpful.

Thank you for your email.
Your LT4 will need the Dual valve E2-X system. As the Blackwing does not appear to have the factory clean side you will want our billet CSS that replaces the driverside's oil fill cap.
This will then provide proper full time evacuation and the most effective air/oil separation on the market.
So for parts the same parts a newer ZL1 would take including the cutaway long L bracket.
We have not determined the best mounting location yet as we have not had a blackwing in yet, but anywhere there is room, even if it is in an out of the way place is fine as long as it can be accessed to drain.
Let me know all if you have other questions, and use the 6th gen ZL1 installation instructions.
Thank you,

Steve

Steve also shared this install video below as well.

Please take a look at this video, this will give you an overall idea of the installation.
