New Lyriq-V review

The specs on the gravity are IMPRESSIVE but I still won't buy a Lucid until their dealer/repair network is filled in more. Just too much risk for me.
If you get into an even a minor accident and there's even a hint of possible battery damage, your insurance company will total the car saying it's unsafe to drive. EVs are just not ready for consumer use yet until they get the battery problems solved.

I'm just speculating here but I would imagine insurance companies are much happier when companies like GM/Ford/Honda/etc get into the EV game and not these niche manufacturers simply because of parts supply and availability of the dealership network. Every time a Lucid or Rivian comes across an insurance agents desk for payout I imagine they die a little inside.

Yeah that's the other problem not specifically related to EV technology. These new and smaller companies just don't have the logistics to stock repair parts adequately. Even a minor fender bender could have you waiting months for a simple replacement part.
